In 2008, I graduated from Hautes Etudes d’Ingénieur, a French grande école, with a Master’s degree in Engineering. During my Master’s degree I focused on Textile Engineering. As I was keen on Medical Textiles, the obvious next step in my education was to spend a year abroad to study Medical Textiles at North Carolina State University. There, my primary research focus was analysis and characterization of the textile structure from explanted endovascular stent-graft devices used in treating AAAs. In addition, I graduated in 2010 with a Master’s degree in Biomaterials and Medical Devices as a specialization degree. As part of this degree, I made a six-month internship at Vascutek, a manufacturer of medical devices that address the needs of vascular and cardiovascular clinicians. I worked on demonstrating the proof of principle to create a new endovascular fabric. I have since then worked for Vascutek as a Product Development Engineer, focusing on different endovascular projects. In the past few months I have been leading a couple of textile projects to be included in the development of endovascular products.
