Highly interested in material science, and physics & chemistry in general, I first studied in ESPCI (Ecole de Physique Chimie Industrielles) in Paris. My carreer started immediately after in Ecole Polytechnique (LPICM laboratory) during my PhD, as I worked on the first in-situ ellipsometer integrated to an amorphous silicon PECVD coating reactor. Then, in SOLEMS, I first developed metallic and oxide coatings like Ag, Cu, ITO and ZnO by PVD, for back contact upgrading of our solar cells, with the help of optical modelling. Then I turned to weather protection issues, setting new encapsulation processes, climatic tests, and certification sequences for a few years.
In 1993, 6 of us took the ownership of the company and became managers of SOLEMS "season 2". 20 years later, despite the tremendous changes of the photovoltaic industry, SOLEMS is more than ever offering original amorphous cells, modules and light sensors and advizing its customers to intergrate PV in their products. My present job as Sales Manager is to create products, adapt them to the customers specs, seek new markets, promote and sell our specific PV products, generating 1M€/year.
R&D is still part of our activity with ANR and european programs on thin films and solar cells with partner labs.
In parallel, I wrote 2 popularization books on photovoltaics, translated in english, spanish and portuguese. I also teached in CEDER master (Versailles St Quentin University), Engineering school SUP'GALILEE (Paris XIII) and Cergy Pontoise University Bachelor of Renewable Energy.
