  • Imerys - Mine Geologist

    2015 - maintenant * Implemented 4 drilling campaigns, from targeting to surveying of the holes. Logged and sampled 4km of aforementioned drill cores with 12% QA/QC. Digitised and corrected databases for 2 deposits (1,660 drill holes), followed by statistics and EDAs using R-Studio and Excel. Additional EDAs, database visualisation and geo-modelling using Leapfrog, then variography studies and ordinary kriging estimation method using Leapfrog. Block model validation (cross-sections, data representation, swath plots...), long term reconciliations and resources classification with Excel and Surpac.
    * Implemented the Grade Control program by doing regular geo-mapping and face sampling but also by gathering the production sample, then integrated the data into a live Grade control Block-model using Ordinary Kriging estimation method. Statistical analyses on the grade control data with comparison between the samples types as well as the drill holes database. Created bench maps and implemented consistent quality control. Validation of the block-model through quarterly reconciliations.
    * Realised a cost comparisons between sub-contractor and internal drilling. Supported process and product development teams. Sampled cores and faces for a global density study using water displacement method.

    2015 - maintenant • Implemented 4 drilling campaigns, logged and sampled 4km with 12% QA/QC. Digitalised 1,660 historical logs, followed by EDA and statistics. Geo-modelled 3 deposits, followed by variography studies, ordinary kriging estimation method, block model validation, long term reconciliations and resources classification
    • Implemented a grade control program with regular geo-mapping and face sampling combined with gathering of the production sample and integration of the data into a live Grade control block-model.
    • Cost estimation of drilling internal VS contracted. Density study using water displacement method.
    • Managed a year-long project leading to the full revision of the geo-modelling and estimation processes used by the MTS team.

    2013 - 2015 * Reserves and Resources (R&R) audits on different sites (Feldspars and Perlite in Turkey, Talc in Canada and Austria, Ball Clays in France, Kaolin in UK). Consolidated the group R&R numbers for yearly COMEX presentation. Managed the R&R database system.
    * Various projects: process mapping of the geo-modelling and Inverse Distance estimation method using Surpac on an Andalusite deposit in France. Scheduled 3 mines for medium term production and created cross-sections on secondary kaolin deposit in Brazil. Database corrections and EDAs on primary kaolin in Thailand, geo-modelling of a talc deposit in France.

    Paris 2013 - 2013 * Follow up of a drilling campaign previous to acquisition of a competitor company: Logged and sampled 2km of core with 12% duplicates for QA/QC. Digitised and corrected the databases of 2 deposits (350 drill holes) and completed EDAs using Excel. Modelled the decomposition grades of the deposit using wire-frames then completed variography studies and nearest neighbour estimation using Surpac.
    * Assistance in sampling across the different mines for a global density and moisture study using the water displacement method.
