At the beginning in 1986, I worked as an after sales technician.
At the same time, because electronics was my passion, I designed only for pleasure my first Uninterruptible Power Supply.
It was designed with modern components allowing the direct high voltage conversion, reducing dramatically the size, weight and cost. Our IFP600 was very attractive when compared to the competitors, then the market demand grew fast.
In order to produce by ourselves this product we decided to set up a dedicated company; Wattpower started in 1991.
In 1992 we set up an engineering department and we made a few power systems dedicated to the railway applications, since then I was in charge of the hardware part of the projects, the schematics development and prototype qualifications.
In 2000 our core business has moved to Telecommunication products, including modular and redundant inverters.
From 1991 to November 2014 I have never stopped designing converters, inverters and power supplies for varied application fields, including Telecommunications, Emergency Lighting and Solar.
Some of these products are still in production even if the company Wattpower doesn’t exist anymore.
An Italian company, Elettronica FM located next to Garda lake in the north of Italy, took over Wattpower in 2005.
Year after year the R&D activity has been transferred to the Italian company.
In the last four years I worked full-time at Elettronica FM premises, along with a software engineer we developed a CEI-021 compliant solar micro inverter.
