Sensitive to the arts at a very early age, Morgan KIRCH's career started young. Museums, exhibitions and art galleries were his favourite outings, shaping his critical eye and his taste for structured lines, contrasts and the interplay of light. He hesitated for a long time about how best to express his vision. Architecture, Design or Fashion? His applied arts studies quickly showed him that drawing was not enough and that making things with his own hands was essential. Fashion won out over architecture.
Three years at the ESMOD school in LYON, France, structured and refined his design talent and allowed him to develop his own concepts: “I believe that it is impossible to draw a garment without knowing how it is made. Garment making is not dissociable from fashion design. I need to touch a fabric and to make it into something. I do not believe anyone can be a designer without this practical knowledge. And if designers do not make garments themselves, they must at least know how to.”
Graduating from ESMOD in 2010, Morgan KIRCH quickly found his artistic identity and created his eponym off-the-peg women's wear brand. In September 2011 he won top prize in the Mode 2011 Talents contest chaired by Mario Lefranc and opened his studio boutique in the Village des Créateurs, Lyon, France. The start of a success story which grows and continues as a family team with no loss of his initial passion -and shock.
