WILLEM C. VIS INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION MOOT COURT

As part of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law team, currently attending the 22 Willem C. Vis Moot Court.
* Moot case concerns international commercial law and arbitration, corporate and maritime law.
* Extensive legal research and drafting of memoranda for claimant and respondent in simulated arbitral proceedings.
* Attending pre-moot conferences in Zagreb, Budapest and Belgrade.

• Interned in an office practicing mostly corporate law and M&A. Some activities included:
o Drafted and contributed to the drafting of client and internal legal memoranda, claims, agreements and Powers of Attorney.
o Assisted in writing a submission to the Croatian Competition Agency regarding a merger control case.
o Assisted in researching and drafting memoranda on two monumental international commercial arbitration cases.
o Drafted client briefs on developments in the Natural Energy and Public Communication sectors.
o Other responsibilities included translating legal documents, preparation of documents and meetings, etc.

LEO CLUB ZAGREB

• Named the acting treasurer of Leo Club Zagreb, a youth volunteering organization subsidiary of Lions Club International, some activities include:
o Managing the organization’s bank account used to fund and plan charity projects, in particular for victims of flooded areas in Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2014
o Securing the club’s offices and meeting points for conducting weekly meetings and charity projects

* Working on the organizing team as part of the Content Team to organize a 100-people conference simulating European decision-making process in Zagreb.
* Developed time management and leadership skills, such as staff and volunteer management, event management etc.
* Researched and reviewed current legislative proposals to select debating topics for two five-day discussions.
* Writing lengthy Preparation Guides on selected topics. ;
* Received a 25,000 Euro grant from the European Commision for MEUZ 2015. For the 2014 conference, the entire budget of the conference was around 2,000 Euro.

* Legal traineeship in an office practicing civil law. Some activities included:
o Translating contracts (SPAs) and performing legal research regarding an acquisition of a bank for a Swiss client.
o Legal research, preparing documents for meetings and conferences.
o First--hand legal drafting of contracts, enforcement orders, rush notes, etc.

* Worked at a hotel on the Croatian coast, as part of a 6 person team, in a 14-unit, 4-star hotel, with various tasks and responsibilities including but not limited to, waiting tables, handling reservations, social media management etc.
* Learned and implemented marketing and management procedures that helped increase revenue and overall customer satisfaction

• As part of the Foreigners and Asylum Seekers Help Group, provided asylum seekers and clients from socially endangered backgrounds with pro bono legal drafting and advice. Other activities included:
o Handled first-level asylum requests from refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, etc., in collaboration with the Croatian Legal Center and the Croatian Ministry of Interior Affairs.
o Provided legal advice to asylum seekers on a biweekly basis.
o In collaboration with the Centre for Peace Studies, supervised hearings at the Administrative Court of Zagreb regarding the decision-making on asylum cases and produced a report
o Published an article in Pro Bono magazine, subject: “Acquiring citizenship by naturalization through more favorable conditions”
