After 10 years of experience across diverse industries such as Software Engineering, Finance, Marketing and Oil and Gas, I am currently working for OneFi | Carbon (previously Paylater) as Head of Data Science. Expert in algorithm conception and feature engineering using domain knowledge, I offer a strong expertise in high-level complexity Data Science, Machine Learning modeling and deployment, Data Architecture solutions and design. I am overall a strategic thinker for complex problem solving with a strong understanding of business.

Besides Data Science in mobile technology within fintech and digital banking, I have other areas of specialization and interests such as Distributed Machine Learning, Edge Computing, Network Data Science, Graph Databases and Algorithms, IoT Data Analytics, Business & Technology Innovation, Alternative Data Strategy as well as Data Science applied to Social Sciences and Behavioural Analytics. I am also a regular contributor, mentor and speaker for AI & Data Science Education, Universities Programs and NGOs all over the world.

  • CARBON - Head of Data Science

    2018 - maintenant As Head of Data Science at OneFi | CARBON (previously PAYLATER), I lead the Data Science team of 10 people and manage the team spread between Lagos, Cape Town and US from the London-based leadership office. I influence and provide expertise by establishing the strategic roadmap for Data Science and Engineering and by bridging the gap between Software Engineering, Risk Management, Credit Analytics and Business Intelligence departments.

    I am responsible for the development of the model prototyping and development for credit approval, fraud prevention, alternative credit scoring, decision engine design and deployment, and Marketing AI-driven platform design and building.

    OneFi aims at democratising access to finance by leveraging data and technology with its major product 'CARBON' (previously Paylater) dedicated to the African Market. Since its launch in 2016, CARBON has deployed across 1 million loans, disbursing now over 85 000 loans per month.

  • FILED - Head of Artificial Intelligence

    2018 - 2018 Responsible for the AI algorithms modeling and deployment in order to deliver a framework able to analyze and optimize Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns.

    The core of the AI engine was to allow budgets to be automatically moved from under-performing ad sets to the best performing ones, thereby maximising results, as well as to optimize the bidding strategy to help customer campaigns deliver according to the objective they select.

  • Certace - Machine Learning Engineer

    2017 - 2018 Worked as a consultant for Certace which connects the top 1% of data experts (Information Strategists, Analysts, Machine Learning Scientists, Data Architects, Data Engineers, etc.) with the most relevant and meaningful high-impact projects in order to help organizations advance through a clear data strategy allowing for descriptive, predictive and prescriptive data insights.

  • Plesk - Data Scientist

    2016 - 2017 My role is to bring a strategic thinking related to data in order to extract actionable insights that will help drive decisions across the business. I have built a high-level data integration / aggregation systems through numerous data sources in order to build machine learning models in order to predict sales, buying and upgrading patterns, lifetime value and churn.

    Data Processing and Entity Recognition. NLP system deployed for the understanding of the Legal documents and contracts.
    Developed in-house tools for Fraud investigation and prevention.
