Its members are search and information providers all over Europe and outside the EU as well as national associations. The core activity of search and information providers consists mainly in collecting and organizing data in an efficient and rational way, thus providing high added-value to the raw information in terms of access, search ability and use. Search and information providers need to assure users that the sought data is accurate, up-to-date and reliable, to be able to create gateways in the Connected Society, putting the right people in contact in the right place over the Internet, and fostering the development of electronic commerce in Europe
