I am looking for an employment which will challenge me and improve my skills. I would be happy to
work within construction fire safety or risk management.
Today, I am in the end of my employment at Länsstyrelsen, a Swedish government agency. The
mission aims to decide if a specific enterprise is supposed to be classified as " dangerous enterprise"
due to its activity, according to the Swedish law. An accident at these enterprises have a risk of
making serious harm to people or the environment. The decisions are based on gathered
information, consequences analysis of possible accidents and consultations with fire rescue team,
environmental management and the concerned enterprises. Furthermore, I have been planning and
holding a meeting and several visits to enterprises whenever it was necessary for the decision.
Before this I made an internship at CORIA in Rouen. The internship concerned wildland- urban
interface fires which is a current problem because many cities expands into the wildlands. The
purpose was to examine the thermal effects on constructions which are exposed to wildfires. Fire
dynamics simulation was used in order to simulate this phenomena. This experience was very
achieving not least by the fact to work in another country. Thanks to the language differences I am
more aware of the importance to have a good communication, which I actively work for.
I have been studying at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden where I improved to plan and prior
my work. I am confident to work individual as well as within a team. My co-workers use to describe
me as a reliable, resourceful and cheerful person. I appreciate to work with people with different
working experiences and culture because it often generates in solutions from altered perspectives.
The main parts of the fire protection engineering program are; construction material understanding,
heat transfer and risk management. Therefore, I have knowledge of the behaviour of construction
materials; steel, concrete and timber; at ambient and at evaluated temperatures.
By my experience from working life, I am used to take responsibility over my own occupation and
make decisions during more stressful circumstances. To come up with new solutions and to view a
situation from different directions has been important, especially during my internships.
I have an ambition to continue increasing my knowledge in a challenging environment. Hopefully, I
have managed to catch your attention and I would be happy to get an opportunity to further talk
about how we can create a rewarding cooperation.
