    2014 - 2015 Joined the organisation as Head of Sales EMEA to build a stronger sales function. Despite the organisation having generated very little, if any, revenue in the preceding 18 months, within 6 months of joining I secured revenue in excess of 4.5M GBP. The opportunity then arose to move into the role of Head of Volunteer Recruitment and I started in that role in February / March 2015 whilst initially still providing support to the Global Head of Sales. The Head of Volunteer Recruitment role involved managing two very distinct functions to generate sufficient volunteers to populate viral challenge clinical studies in the purpose built quarantine unit, for client and internal studies. I managed a small team generating volunteer leads through various marketing channels, and a Telephone Contact Centre consisting of a number of specialists / trainers / team leaders and a manager.

    2012 - 2012 * DOCS are experts in sourcing personnel within the Pharmaceutical, CRO, Medical Device & Biotechnology industries.

    * My role was to undertake thorough research and analysis to identify business needs within the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Medical Device industries and identify the service provided by DOCS that can meet the needs. Prepare detailed plans and network within the industry to build solid customer relationships founded on trust. Prepare and deliver presentations to customers at all levels within their respective organisations. Ensure that the operational staff within DOCS are fully briefed on all opportunities and maintain oversight until placement made.
  • Kendle - Director Strategic Resourcing

    2010 - 2011 Director Strategic Resourcing EMEA and Asia Pacific - 2011 - Managing and developing team of Resource Managers and outsourced employees working within clinical roles for Pharmaceutical company clients (from CRAs to Project Directors). Included business development (Researching and identifying opportunities. Proposal development. Preparing for, briefing team, and leading Bid Defense meetings), performance management, significant change management, budgeting, financial reviews, and strategic reviews. Revenue approximately $8M per annum.

    Director Global Key Accounts - 2010 - Business development role. Role included but was not limited to: Researching the market and identifying opportunities within Pharmaceutical companies’ product pipelines. Selling Phase II / III “full service” package to meet the needs of the Pharmaceutical companies. Responding to initial RFI. Preparing and managing the development of proposals. Preparing for, attending and managing Bid Defense meetings. Negotiating contracts. Maintaining responsibility for customer relationship management before and during clinical study to ensure successful operational delivery and customer satisfaction. Won substantial business in 6 months from scratch and was in final stages of winning further business with another new customer when I moved to new role.

    Left Kendle at the time of the acquisition by INC Research as there was some uncertainty around the existence of my role within the new organisation.

  • Innovex (Quintiles) - Sales Director

    1997 - 2008 • Awarded Regional Business Manager of the Year prior to promotion to Sales Director, and one of the first Senior Regional Business Managers within the organisation.
    • Initiated and led project to reduce costs of employees leaving company. Resulted in process being rolled out throughout organisation and savings of approx. £100,000 in first year.
    • Turning a 60 representative team with a multitude of issues, not providing customer satisfaction, into one delivering a quality service appreciated by the customer.
    • Successful build of new team of sales representatives and managers within short timelines which received superb feedback from the customer regarding the high quality of all recruited.
    • Winning business with new clients.
