En résumé

Ingénieur mécanicien de formation, j'ai commencé ma carrière en 1981 comme assistant du Professeur Ryhming à l'Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne.
En 1983,j'ai rejoint Holcim, un des leaders mondiaux dans la production de ciment, granulats, béton prêt-à-l'e mploi et des services associés, où j'ai occupé, à l'international, de nombreuses fonctions managériales. Ingénieur maintenance aux USA, directeur d'usine puis directeur général régional et vice président marketing & ventes au Mexique, "Chief Operating Officer" puis "Chief Executive Officer" en Thaïlande, et finalement directeur général en charge des opérations et "Chief Executive Officer" pour la filiale France Benelux de Holcim, et ce, jusqu'en mars 2011.

Je suis aussi titulaire d'un MBA obtenu à Lausanne en 1992.

     Weathered the economic crisis effectively (maintained roughly the consolidated Ebitda margin at the 2008 level) through carefully designed pricing strategies and adjustment of the fixed costs to the new volume of business
     Streamlined and simplified the business processes allowing for a sharp reduction of support process costs
     Divested and/or deconsolidated several non-core underperforming businesses
  • Holcim France Benelux SA - Directeur général opérations ciments

    2004 - 2009 Member of the Executive Committee of Holcim France Benelux, in charge of Cement Manufacturing Operations, i.e. 6 integrated cement plants, 3 grinding stations, and of Geocycle, an industrial waste service provider

    Main challenges and achievements:
     Engrained a customer-centric mindset within the production team
     Developed an application-based portfolio of highly blended products
     Captured sizable operational synergies within the industrial set-up
     Enhanced Geocycle’s (a 40 million Euro gross added value business unit) reputation as an ecologically sound and sustainable solution provider for industrial waste valorization

    2001 - 2004 Managing Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee

    Siam City Cement is a public company, listed at the stock exchange of Bangkok. Holcim entered into a joint venture with Bank of Ayudhya in 1999, obtaining the management of this 600 mUSD turnover company, active in cement, ready-mixed concrete and aggregates in South-East Asia.

    Main challenges and achievements:
     Defined and implemented a comprehensive branding scheme and positioned Apasco’s logo as the only nation-wide brand in Mexico
     Set up a highly efficient network of distribution centers throughout the Mexican market
     Built an import/export terminal in Manzanillo
     President of the Mexican Chamber of Cement Industry (1998-1999)

     Turned a cash destroying business unit into a value adding position of the Apasco Group
