A veteran educator, with public policy and administration experience, I have experience in a wide range of education endeavours. These include initiating a university experience for elementary students in a low income, immigrant community in Toronto, Canada designed to widen their aspirations. Following this, I was a key researcher/writer for the Royal Commission on Learning. In Japan, I taught in the first English immersion programme in the country, leading two successive classes of students to success in high stakes entrance exams before taking on administration responsibilities. In Singapore, I was the founding head of middle school at GESS, achieving IB MYP authorisation in possibly record time (two years) before moving on to co-designing the new organisational structure to embrace and integrate digital literacy across the school. Currently, in addition to supporting computers and tablets in learning, I am undertaking doctoral studies focussing on improving science education through the use of educational robotics.
