  • Johnson & Johnson - Logistics & Purchasing Team Lead

    New Brunswick 2014 - 2015 Reporting in to the Materials Manager, I led a team of 24 associates within the Purchasing, Planning and
    Logistics Functions.
    My responsibility covered, Purchasing (2 Buyer/Planners, 1 Purchasing Admin), Receiving Dock (3
    Associates), Receiving Inspection (4 Inspection Associates plus 1 QA Technician), Stores/Kitting (6
    Associates on rotating 3 cycle 24/5 shift, and two on day support) and Repack (5 Associates) plus 3PL

    and MRO associate supplier on-site implants (6 Associates).
    Responsibility for EUR 110 million spend across Direct (Raw Materials) and Indirect.

    Achievements:
    * Implemented Savings (CR) of EUR 1,953,205 ;
    * Shingo Gold Medal prize winner March 2014 as the Purchasing, Planning and Logistics Shingo
    Advocate.
    * Led a 26% improvement in JnJ Internal Audit results for the PP& L Group,
    Year 2011, Audit result 23 Actions, Score 70% (Two months in the role)
    Year 2012, Audit result 13 Actions, Score 83.75%
    Year 2014, Audit result 2 Actions, Score 96%
    * Led this significant change in quality compliance behaviour to ensure 24/7 FDA and BSI Audit
    ready.
    * 100% successful root cause investigation and on-time close out of CAPA's and NC's.
    * Responsible for Receiving Inspection lead time reduction from 36 days to 3 days.
    * DePuy representative shortlisted for the National Procurement Awards sponsored by the IIPMM
    for VMI implementation.
  • Cordis Cashel - Purchasing Team Lead

    2010 - 2011 Lead with responsibility for the Purchasing function reporting directly to the Logistics Director.
    Responsibilities included, but were not limited to, ensuring continuity of supply of BOM raw materials,
    negotiating prices and contracts on Capital Equipment, and implementing a VMI model for
    Process/manufacturing aids and consumables.
    As part of this function it was also my responsibility to work cross-functionally with all departments to
    identify and pursue and achieve cost saving initiatives.
    I also had responsibility to establish and maintain compliant purchasing procedures and processes on site
    as part of my remit and to ensure our Department was Audit ready 24/7.
    I was also the Cordis site representative on the Campus Ireland team to investigate and realize cost
    Savings across the JnJ Campus in Ireland.
  • Vistakon (IRL) - Senior Procurement Specialist working

    2008 - 2010 Vistakon (IRL) (Johnson & Johnson) (Contract) Senior Procurement
    Specialist working within the Purchasing Group with responsibility for reducing the 2009 site spend
    through negotiation for cost reduction and cost avoidance across all categories of plant spend, including
    raw materials.

    Achievements:
    * Purchasing representative on cross-functional Vistakon New Process Introduction Team to
    introduce Polypropylene Glycol new processing aid to improve efficiencies and realize an annual
    cost reduction of EUR 650,000. Lead negotiator with identified vendors. Contracts reviewed and
    robust supply chain implemented from raw material to waste. Leveraged off existing PepsiCo
    agreement and supply chain for Ireland.
    * IPA V's Budget analysis-Tracking of ICIS pricing and reconciliation of supplier and logistics
    provider invoicing, showing annual cost avoidance of EUR 351,000, increasing to EUR 669,248 based on
    forecasted consumption.
    * Waste IPA V's Budget analysis & tracking showing an annual cost avoidance of EUR 94,224.

    * Shell V's Exxon cost negotiations on EUR 5 million contract & comparison to identify possible
    savings. Ensure that there is no risk to continuity of supply. Rebate negotiated on any volume
    over 1500mt.
    * Facilitator & tracker on spare parts (MRO) cost reduction initiatives. To ensure, through
    engineering support that each proposed replacement part gets the production line trials required
    to allow the Change Requests (CR) to be created and follow through to completion.
    * Consumables cost comparison between the incumbent supplier and other PPE suppliers.
    Providing the baseline to achieve annual savings of EUR 50,000.
    * Facilities & Engineering contractor negotiations on hourly rates in collaboration with internal
    stakeholders to realize rate reductions of 12% on contract labour rates and hardware cost
    reductions of 6%.
    * New vendor sourced for the supply of pallets and re-cycling of timber waste, to realize annual
    savings of EUR 44,000.
    * Implemented and co-coordinated the re-cycling of corrugated packaging from inter-company
    distribution sites (EVC) to realize annual savings of EUR 130,000.

    with responsibility for the planning, scheduling, procurement and logistics of
    outsourcers based in Spain, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Hungary, Turkey & China. Annual Sales of
    EUR 300 million +
    Responsibility for:
    * Planning & procurement of Finished Goods for Fabric Care, for 5 main markets and
    multiple third party customers.
    * Planning & procurement of 357 Stock Kitting Units (SKU's) for Shoe Care, for 3 main
    markets and multiple third party customers.

    Bezons 2007 - 2007 Responsible for EMEA and APAC indirect purchasing through VMware subsidiaries.
    Reported directly to the Finance Team Leader.

    HQ, California as project coordinator for Lisa (AppleMac predecessor) start up in Cork.
    I was responsible for all material requirements, from Vendor sourcing and validating, to
    the follow through of ECO's, to ensuring all aspects of the supply chain were fully in
    place for the first phase of production in Cork
