  • Coates Hire - Senior Systems Analyst - Team & Tech Leader

    2010 - 2010 Documented and managed the business applications and environment portfolio to assist support. Improved relationship with ERP vendor, who implemented some improvements I suggested (SOA enabling, code branching, testing, etc.).

    Developed and managed base .Net / SQL application architecture and coding standards or all internally developed applications to move out of MS Access based applications. Implemented generic data I/O frameworks to reduce workload on the Applications team.

    Led team of system analysts and DBAs (SQL and Oracle) to develop and support the portfolio of business applications and reports. Mentored team in SDLC best practices and application architecture & design.
  • ISolutions International Pty Ltd - Senior Developer

    2005 - 2010 Solution and Application Architect, Senior Developer and Team / Tech Lead on the AMT suite (Asset Management System). Architected, designed and/or implemented a number of modules some being integrated solutions with enterprise systems.

    Co-architected and implemented multiple transitions from a vb6 only com+ client-server domain only system to a full .Net SOA and SaaS enabled suite of systems with analytics capabilities.
  • Counterpoint Mtc Ltd - Senior Research Engineer, Enterprise Solution Architect & Rnd Manager

    1998 - 2005 Architected then implemented the KAAN music technology system providing a classroom infrastructure (computer controlled network of portable keyboards via electronic interfaces) to assist music teachers. The engineering work involved included the design and manufacture of electronic interfaces (hardware - electronic & metal enclosure, firmware, & CE mark certification), new communication protocol and control software. Installed twenty KAAN systems ($1.5M, full classroom infrastructure) in UK schools between 2001 and 2004.

    Architected and implemented this solution to collect and manage student multimedia workpieces using Tablet PCs (with Ink technology) and could integrate with KAAN. Tablet version with web cams were designed to be used by other arts & PE teachers. ESAAMS was presented to the 2004 Microsoft Tablet PC competition as educational product.

    Created and managed Rnd Department with up to 4 systems engineers, projects of all size from 6 months to 6 years in duration. Implemented artificial intelligence (Intelligent Tutoring System) within KAAN system as part of my PhD, to provide one-to-one intelligent teaching via text-to-speech and keylighting portable keyboard user interface.
