Biography Bernard Clermont
Bernard spent the last 20 years in the Enterprise Software, eCommerce, IT, high tech and telecom worldwide industries. He held successive senior executive positions, such as Senior Executive Vice President & CEO (ACCESS COMMERCE Inc., Montreal, Vancouver, San Diego, an eCommerce Publisher, with a high degree of integration and with a back office background, ERP, CRM, PDM, SFA), as Senior Vice President International Sales & Marketing (PLANNSOFT Inc., Montreal, a CMMS Publisher, Maintenance software dedicated to the manufacturing industry), and more recently as Senior Vice President Worldwide Business Development, Sales & Marketing (MINDPORT Inc., San Diego, publisher of a product range dedicated to the eCommerce, B2B, B2C, EIM, and to the broadband and pay television industries).

Bernard specializes in business development, sales and marketing (direct and indirect), at an international level, including value added products and services, and low-end mass market (retail), products as well. This experience allowed Bernard to establish extensive worldwide relationships and expertize in business (sales & marketing), distributors, agents, VARs, system integrators, partnerships, acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, subsidiaries, OEMs and strategic alliances, including human, technical, financial and legal aspects.

Bernard is a top-performing manager with an extensive business and entrepreneurial background. Although Bernard is a real coach and mentor for the team, he also specializes in prospecting, identifying, qualifying, developing, negotiating and closing new businesses and partnerships.

Prior to working for these North American companies, Bernard worked at a senior level, for Fortune 100 French Companies, such as THOMSON C.S.F., company dedicated to military equipment, MATRA COMMUNICATION, dedicated to computerized telecom and security products.

Before moving from Paris to Montreal in 1995, Bernard was President and CEO of COMPUWORLD INTERNATIONAL Inc., International Marketing, Distribution and Consulting Company for the computer software industry opening and managing worldwide markets for European and US companies.

Bernard is native of Nice, France, is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Italian. He is also a Canadian citizen.

Bernard graduated with a MBA, majored in International Business. He was teaching International Commerce in different Business Universities in Paris and in Montreal. Bernard also wrote a book titled “How to Set up and Manage an International Partnership Network”. He frequently is an invited speaker at a number of seminars and conferences. Bernard is a Professor of International Commerce at Universite LAVAL.

    Mindport delivers technology products and support services to broadband-based pay media operators worldwide to build and protect their businesses by enabling them to develop revenue streams based on delivery of high-value content, to protect the rights and value of that content, and to increase returns from businesses focused on delivering content over broadband infrastructures.

    • Developed the Mindport’s overall worldwide strategy and budget for the indirect sales, partnerships and marketing efforts,
    • Combined these efforts with Mindport’s sister companies (OPEN TV a programming company and Irdeto Access a satellite provider)
    • Created from startup a Mindport’s distribution network in Latin America and in Europe, in less than 3 months

Access Commerce is positioned in the dynamic market segment of interactive commerce on the eve of the phenomenal growth of the Internet.
    • Managed the company (Montreal), and its subsidiaries (Vancouver and San Diego) and brought the total number of employees to 65 (up from seven in one year).
    • Increased the company’s revenues by more than 200% over 9 months (US$ 23 M in 2000).
