VigiWater is a service which studies the impact of pollutants contained in various water samples, on environment and health. For that, bioassays are performed on human cells, algae, bacteria and fungi. However, this service imposes some constraints on the internal organization of the laboratory as much as on the customers, such as transports of samples or time required to perform all the bioassays… These are constraints mainly due to remaining uncertainties about the evolution of the water samples for toxicological investigations. In order to give the service VigiWater more flexibility and to grant a better margin of time to the customers as much as to the laboratory, I tried to evidence whether the water samples could be kept and, if so, what would be the mode and the duration of the conservation

ABCG1 is a transmembrane protein which is involved in lipid homeostasis in several cells such as macrophages or adipocytes. Data obtained in the host laboratory indicate that ABCG1 promotes lipid accumulation in macrophages and TG storage in preadipocyte in a high-fat context. Preliminary results suggest that ABCG1 expression in preadipocytes could enhance the differencation and/or the maturation of preadipocytes into adipocytes and the formation of adipose tissue. Thus, ABCG1 could be involved in the development of obesity. My project was based on the analysis of the impact of the stable inhibition of ABCG1 expression in mouse preadipocytes on the differenciation and the maturation into mature adipocytes.
