Expert in anticorrosive paints and test manager in the corrosion field and in the surface protection field. This includes the technical conduct of the research and development studies, focusing in particular on the development of new anticorrosive paint technologies due to the obsolescence of technical solutions because of European regulations (REACH). Located at Toulouse (DGA aeronautical systems), in charge of the paint ageing laboratory and of the electrochemistry laboratory which are devoted at testing technical solutions for surfaces protection for applications in seawater. Finally, my work is to ensure the supporting of acquisition programs and maintenance services of the navy (paint damages expertise).
Background: In 2003, I worked for the CNRS as a chemical engineer. This first experience was focused on the improvement of the chemical bath deposition process of the Cadmium sulfide in the area of solar cells. From 2004 to 2007, I made my PhD in the EDF R&D center of Chatou. This PhD was focused on chemical synthesis of zinc sulfide semiconductor layers and was included in an European project which aimed at developing new solar cells technology based on a copper/indium/selenium technology which is environmentally compliant and less expensive than silicon technology. From 2007 to 2010, I worked for “Electricité de France” as an engineer in chemistry and in electrochemistry. Responsible of the electrochemistry team, my task was to ensure the reproducibility and the homogeneity of the deposition process.
Since 2010, I am working for the French Defense ministry in Toulouse (DGA Aeronautical Systems). As an expert in anticorrosive paint, my work consists at supporting the acquisition programs (technical specifications, relation with industrial contractors and paint manufacturers), at supporting the maintenance services (paint damages expertise) and at managing corrosion studies for the French ministry of defense. Because of environmental regulations (REACH, biocides regulations, IMO…), European navies have to face and to anticipate short term obsolescence of technical solutions. Consequently, one part of my work is to anticipate this suppression by predicting paint performances and ensuring European standard harmonization.
The research studies that I am leading for the DGA are focused on:
- the drag reduction by new antifouling coatings for Navy Ships,
- the evaluation of new anticorrosive paints for the critical localizations of navy ships due to the loss of technical solutions because of REACH regulation,
- the optimization of accelerated ageing tests for anticorrosive paints.
