  • Dow Corning - Europe Procurement Assistant

    Seneffe 2014 - 2014 From July to December 2014, I have been part of Dow Corning Corporation assisting Europe procurement team daily. I was working at the same time for both sides (direct and indirect) of procurement.
    I had to manage a major project with a significant budget for the company. This project involved the purchase of new tasks chairs and meeting room chairs for an entire building (over 350 chairs). I have contacted the vendors to have quotations. I dealt a first time with suppliers in order to get sample for our test period. I made a planning because chairs were rotating between several people who had kind of disability such as backache, too tall... I collected feedbacks from these people with a questionnaire that I have made. Afterwards, I chose five office chairs out of sixteen, presented them to my superiors and finally we put suppliers in competition in order to get the best price.
    During my internship, I have also made negotiations for specialized machines, compare offers and make decisions concerning which vendors will be retained for some projects, ask suppliers for raw materials samples, ask new prices from product that Dow Corning Europe SA is buying frequently in order to update the SAP ERP, used ARIBA and rebuild Dow Corning Corporation’s mineral oil strategy.
    It was a diversified complete and interesting internship.
