En résumé

17 years dealing with aircraft operations and flight safety within a complex social/technical air transport environment give me an extensive experience in following domains:

- Safety Management:
implementing safety related processes and indicators to feed the Top Management decision-making process.

- Transverse processes:
understanding needs/specifications of different dpt. in order to organize processes at a corporate level.

- Management of change:
dpt. merger and organization optimization (e.g. from a small domestic airline to an important subsidiary of a major international airline).

- Management:
job definitions, recruitment interviews, team management, recruitment/ management of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility.

- Flight & ground airline operations and, to some extent, maintenance and airport operations:
including Relationship with external bodies (National and European Authorities), professional organizations (ERA, IOSA) and partners (airports, ground handling, a/c manufacturers, etc.).

Also aviation expert, I contributed to:
2008-current = Air Safety Advisory Group of the European Regions Airlines Association (ERA).
2008-2009 = DGAC-Industry WG for the writting of the French SMS regulation.
2008 = organization team of the DGAC Air Safety symposium on Aircraft Icing.
2008 = DGAC-Industry WG Icing Risk (in relashionship with French State Safety Plan).
1999 = DGAC-Industry WG about PRM & disabled passengers transportation.
1998-2007 = Member of the Operations Advisory Group of the European Regions Airlines Association (ERA).

    Safety Promotion (Risk Analysis and SMS training, safety awareness training based on experience feebacks, etc.).
  • Régional Compagnie Aérienne (Groupe AIR FRANCE) - Flight Safety Senior Engineer (Deputy Flight Safety Manager)

    Tremblay en France 2008 - 2010 Air transport/aviation expert, I was SMS technical advisor in charge of giving structure to the Flight Safety Dpt. methods & processes (incl. FDM and Air Safety Reports management) with the prospect of implementing a Safety Management System.

    I also carried out safety investigations (incidents), working with REGIONAL Flight Safety Officers and investigators of the BEA (French authority responsible for safety investigations into accidents or incidents in civil aviation).
  • Régional Compagnie Aérienne (Groupe AIR FRANCE) - Head of Operations Engineering

    Tremblay en France 2001 - 2008 I was in charge of the merger of three Ops Engineering Dpt. (2001, further to the merger of 3 AF subsidiaries).

    I had the responsability of a team up to 15 persons (operations engineers, technicians and administrative employees in both permanent and temporary jobs ; incl. disabled persons), and for for a 700K€/year budget.

    In relashionship with Chief Pilot, Chief Pilots, Head of Cabin Crew, Maintenance & Ground Ops Dpt. I was in charge of:
    - flight & ground regulations/best practices monitoring (EASA, IATA, AEA, etc.),
    - a/c operations engineering: manufacturer technical documentation monitoring, performance and flight path calculation/optimization, weigh & balance,
    - a/c de/anti-icing procedures,
    - special passengers & loads rules (PRM & disabled passengers, dangerous goods).
    - documentation management: ops manuals design and writing.
    - flight doc logistics supervision from the printing to the relevant a/c (incl. navigation manuals & FMS data).
  • PROTEUS AIRLINES - Head of Operations Engineering

    1997 - 2001 Creation/organization of the Ops Engineering Dpt. in order to support the rapid growth of the airline (1997 = 5 a/c, 19-30 seat turboprops ; domestic regular flights / 2000 = 34 a/c, 50-100 seat jets ; international regular and charter flights).
    Job definitions, team recruitment, processes & methods development, tools specifications, selection and development (a/c performance calculation tools, technical documentation, etc.).
