Algo Risk Services on Cloud (ARSoC) provide the AlgoSuite Risk Analytics suite as cloud service to our customers.
I worked on many projects, from one-off change requests, problem fixing, to complete upgrade of customers
environments, following a classic development lifecycle from Unit Testing to Production deployment.
* Investigate Customer's change requests and issues; perform custom technical integration, change of configuration or
bug fixing; working with the Financial Engineers, the Algo Risk Services platform team and Algo R&D.
* Upgrade of several customer environments to latest Algo Risk Services platform; produce the gap analysis documents;
install and configure the new AlgoSuite version; review and modify the many components making up the Algo Risk
Services platform to suit the customers requirements.
* Raise defects and enhancements requests and provide resolutions.
* Implement new functionalities provided by the platform team; configuring to specific customers requirements.
* On-going development of the continuous build and deployment process of the Algo Risk Services platform, based on
Subversion, Bash shell and Perl scripts.
*The work involves installing and configuring the various AlgoSuite components; review and implement new
functionalities or fix bugs in the shell / perl data ETL tool, Algosuite data mapper, Riskwatch scripts; configure the Algo
Batch Engine for new functionalities, reliability and performance improvements; install and configure the web application
front end (ARA) running on Tomcat or Websphere; configure ARA reports; modify or re-configure the Algo Risk Service
Java market data loader application; modify the data vendor configuration (Bloomberg, Reuter); configure customer's
provided market data loading; work around defects from various origin.
Provide technical support to Algo Risk service on Cloud clients, troubleshooting of the production batch processes, web
application server, reports and other issues raised by customers, complying with the Service Level Agreement ( SLA ).
* Investigate and resolve production batch process errors as part of 24/7 support team, handling the communications
with the customer's until resolution.
* Investigate and resolve web application server errors (ARA, deployed on Tomcat and Websphere).
* Investigate customer issues relating to the configuration of the Algo Risk Service environment; troubleshooting of the
ETL process written in Shell and Perl; troubleshooting the loading of the customer's data and vendor market data
(Bloomberg, Reuters), fixing AlgoSuite data mapping errors;
Provide mentoring and help with daily issues to my colleagues, from simple process understanding to more complex
analysis of application failure and configuration issues.

As a member of the global support team I provided technical support for Actimize customer's in EMEA and APAC.
Actimize provides the banking and energy industries with fraud and anti money laundering prevention solutions, watch
list filtering and trading compliance monitoring systems.
*Investigate and resolve system environment errors, implementation errors and identify Actimize products or solutions
defects.
*Reproduce Actimize products configurations for investigation purposes; this involve installing Actimize Intelligence
platform comprising of several databases, application servers and a web application server, configuring and testing its
various solutions including Anti Money Laundering , Watch List Filtering, Trading Compliance and Fraud prevention.
*Liaise with professional services and development teams to ensure satisfactory and speedy resolutions of customer's
issues.
*Install and configure virtual machines with: Oracle and MS SQL database servers, Tomcat and Websphere web
application servers on both Linux and Windows platforms, OpenLDAP server on Linux to be used by a Tomcat server for
container based authentication.
*ACTIMIZE UK - Product Support Specialist Continued
*Investigate critical failure of customer's systems and provide resolution within the customer support service level
agreement. Some of these systems are real time watch list filtering solution of banks customer transactions and require
speedy and accurate resolution. This requires thorough system analysis to identify the source of the problem, ranging
from database failure (i.e. Oracle, MSSQL and Berkeley DB), data format fault, SOAP web services failure, application
server and web application server failure, third party system failure (i.e. SWIFT messages, Fircosoft list filtering, MQ
server); apply suitable corrective actions.
*Write Cygwin shell scripts to generate scripts which execute the underlying Actimize user interface Java classes
commands as batch, this allowed to run the import of the many Actimize solution packages as unattended batch,
avoiding a lengthy manual one-by-one interface operation.

As a Serena consultant, I worked within various industries including finance, insurance, chemical, defence,
telecommunication, software, and government agencies, implementing configuration management and issue tracking
systems following ITIL concepts.
*Performed various upgrades and new installations of Dimensions CM and TeamTrack on Unix (Aix, Solaris, HP-UX),
Linux (RedHat 4) and Windows servers 2003;
*Conducted in-depth business analysis for various industries and subsequently built the process models and solutions to
suit customer's requirements.
*Preparation and upgrade from version 6 to 10 of a large Dimensions CM network. This required debugging and
extensive re-writing of the C/C++ API programs and triggers of a bespoke integration of Serena Dimensions CM (this
included the configuration of secure shell openSSH for all network communications between the Dimensions servers and
the T24 servers); This involved a network of over 15 Unix servers comprising of 4 different versions of AIX on 32 and 64
bits platforms; The production servers were located in the UK and India and this required the preparation for the roll-out
to include thorough testing and writing detailed procedure for the various system administrators involved;
*Production of Unix shell and PL/SQL scripts to convert from Dimensions CM delta libraries to standard libraries on HP-
UX before upgrade from version 7 to 10;
*Integration between TeamTrack and Dimensions CM;
*Review of existing Dimensions CM process model and TeamTrack solutions to resolve customer's issues and
implement configuration management systems.
*Set up and configuration of complex Dimensions CM build and deployment process for Visual Studio solutions and
Oracle Forms applications (i.e. Pro-C, Pro-Cobol and PL/SQL, on Unix);
*Production of bespoke C#, MS-SQL and PL/SQL programs for TeamTrack and Dimensions CM;
*Design of ad-hoc methods for the migrations of Dimensions Oracle databases to Unicode;
*Production of detailed process documentation for customer upgrades, migrations, verification and documentation of the
backup procedure of the Dimensions CM repository and Oracle database;
*Migration of a large Serena Collage system from Solaris to Windows.

Database Application Programming
*Worked on client/server application with Sybase PowerBuilder and Oracle on Unix for the in-house Billing System for
satellite traffic in a version controlled development environment.
*Programmed Java back-end system on Unix for files extraction and data reconciliation for the Billing System.
Datawarehouse Development
Comprehensively worked on the datawarehouse system comprising an Oracle on Unix Tru64 server for the back-end
and Windows NT/2000 Brio Web servers for the front-end reports.
*Unix Shell scripting, database design, PL/SQL and Brio Javascript programming, system tests and review of design.
*Unix environment set up and installation of Oracle 9i followed by the migration of the datawarehouse system. This
involved review and redesign of data storage, data files structure and partitioning, database set up and tuning, set-up
and indexing of snapshots replication, write Unix shell and PL/SQL scripts to automate the management of the
partitioned table.
*Debug and redesign of a satellite traffic database that included reprogramming of Unix shell scripts and PL/SQL
programs of the automated monitoring, import and partitioning of traffic data files, Oracle PL/SQL data integration
packages, set up replication and create new Brio Javascript reports.
*Development and implementation of comprehensive system reporting on the datawarehouse with Unix shell scripts,
PL/SQL triggers and procedures and Brio Javascript.
*Production of ad-hoc programs and reporting for fraudulent communications pattern analysis, marketing and finance
initiatives.
*Development of a client/server application with Sybase PowerBuilder and PL/SQL for the administration of the in-house
Data Integration program of the Datawarehouse system. This required the design of a recursive procedure for the
administration of the hierarchical architecture of process queues (in-house ETL program).
*Development of a Visual Basic OLE application for automated migration and upgrades of Brio Intelligence server
(Windows) files.
Web Development
*Supported the Web development team, installed and set up Oracle Internet File System servers on Caldera Linux 8.2
and Solaris 9. This included install and basic set up of Unix and Java environment and Tomcat web servers on both
systems.
System Testing and Debugging
*Performed thorough testing of the in-house Oracle Data-Warehouse PL/SQL data integration programs and Brio
reports, tuning, debugging and subsequent program fixing over several periods.

for the worldwide safety of life at sea system (SOLAS) as specified by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
*Developed bespoke Ms-Access software for the billing team using Oracle PL/SQL, Visual Basic and Rational Robot
programming. This work demanded a sound understanding of the satellite communication data and analysis of the billing
rules of Inmarsat telecommunications business.
*Carried out user acceptance testing of the in-house billing system.

*Drew up specifications for, and developed a Visual Basic/Ms-Access Document Control database. Its core purpose was
to store all project documents within their related work breakdown structure. This software was designed to be deployed
for each project as a bespoke system, which, when fed with the work breakdown structure, would create a tailored MS
Access database for the project's document control.

*Sole responsibility for all maintenance and daily support of all ODE's London computer facilities: the network server
(Novell Netware 3.12), the back-up system (Cheyenne Arcserve 6), the mail server (Ms Mail), the many computers
(Windows 3.1, 95 and NT) and printers.
Database developer - 8 months
*Simultaneously analysed the specifications and developed a Visual Basic/Ms-Access database application to provide
ODE with an improved in-house Document Control System and readied it for implementation. This included a complete
tracking of the document history (including transmission), flexible progress reporting, and bespoke utilities.
*I was brought in to take over the development and debugging of the Phillips'Maureen oil platform decommissioning
Document Control system written with Ms-Access.
*Sole responsibility for design and development of a bespoke Ms-Access database system to store the project
documents and to collect and analyse all data submitted by tenders (description of method, man-hours and costs).
