¤ Manage, optimize and oversee all aspects of general accounting to ensure accurate and timely posting of all local and EMEA transactions according to pre-established deadlines
¤ Analyze, review and approve journal entries to ensure all adjustments and accruals are made accurately and for the appropriate period.
¤ Manage the daily operations related to general accounting, tax and account payable matters as part of the EMEA Goodyear model
¤ Ensure adherence to US GAAP and compliance with SOX for all transactions recorded in the general ledgers and general accounting processes
¤ Support the FP&A team, manage internal and external audits, and work with shared services and other country accounting managers to ensure a timely month-end close
¤ Identify best practices, drive continuous process improvements and suggest cost savings within the general accounting function.
¤ Provide guidance and leadership to accountants for month end close processes, general ledger maintenance, fixed assets, cash management, reconciliations and variance analysis of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet and statutory)
