En résumé

I have been captain on French military air transport aircraft Transall C160 and Boeing B707 AWACS.

I am currently the Joint operations director at the French Joint Operational HQ in CREIL. I was deployed for five months (from the initial deployment in january - june) in MALI as Joint Operations Director of the French Intervention in Mali (6 000 troops - 40 aircrafts).

2012 - I was for 6 months the french air and Maritime liaison officer to US CENTCOM and dealt on subjects of common interests for France and the United States concerning the middle east, the Somalia Piracy and Afghanistan.

2008/2012 - Head of the African Division at the French Air Ops Command (CDAOA) until March 2012. I was hence involved at the Joint HQ level as air specialist (logistic and operations) in the resolution of the SAHEL and Ivory Coast Crisis. I also spent 2 months (september, october) at the NATO CAOC in POGGIO RENATICO during the Libyan Crisis as attaché and deputy of the French Senior Representative.

2004/2008 - I spent four years as Air Transport specialist and French liaison chief in a NATO deployable Combined Air Operation Centre. Deputy Chief of the Air Transport Cell for ISAF in Afghanistan during a 4 months deployment. Chief of the Air Transport Cell during the NATO NRF certification exercise.

2002/2004 - I have been responsible, for two years, for establishing and conducting the monthly air transport plan for the French Air force.

My mother tongue is French, I have a TOEIC level of 995 in English, and am able to fluently communicate in German.
I have an aircraft instrument rated license (CPL-IR), and still flies for the Air Force.

    Paris 2012 - maintenant As Director of the joint Operations Center I am managing a team responsible for being the focal point for the coordination, synchronization and management of current operations, monitoring and reporting on the current operational situation looking out up to three days ahead.

    The staff is responsible for advising the force commander on the evolution of the current situation and informing the ongoing planning process, whilst also being responsible for issuing amended guidance and orders to subordinate components.

    The Joc conducts ongoing operations and is responsible for immediate reporting to the Force Commander. The main tasks include to :
    - maintain close relationship with subordinated component commands’ operations and planning staff,
    - monitor the execution of directives, orders and current operations,
    - report all significant incidents, events, …
    - provide current situation assessment,
    - realize short-term planning related to current operations.

    The Joc is also to manage the tremendous amount of informations that reach the headquarter.

    The Joc Director is also responsible for putting Crisis action team tailored to take care of major events happening. Since all incidents are reported to the JOC, I and my team are responsible for the initial analyse and will request additional informations in order to be able to have the best situation awareness of an event and provide the first assessment.

    I am thereafter responsible to decide the course of actions in coordination with all the departments of the headquarters.

    When Stationed in France my duties are to participate to national and international exercises as participant or mentor. I participate also to the cold plannings ordered by the strategic level in Paris and especially for non-combatant evacuation operations.

    I am all year long on a short notice to move in order to participate in military, disaster relief or humanitarian operations, and deployed from Jan 2013 to june 2013 in MALI as Director of the Joint operations Center for the SERVAL Operations (6000 troops - 60 aircrafts).

    Paris 2012 - 2012 French air and Maritime liaison officer to US CENTCOM and deals on subjects of common interests for France and the United States concerning the middle east, the Somalia Piracy and Afghanistan.

  • Ministère de la Défense - Spécialiste opérations aériennes

    Paris 2008 - 2012 Head of the African Division at the Air Ops Command.
    I had to monitor the french air force activities in Africa and prepare any request for
    information of the Air Ops command chief (or any headquarter in the French Air Force) related
    to the realisation of the missions tasked (that also includes cooperation with the NGOs and UN
    activities). Our cell manages in conjunction with the joint ops HQ and other air force
    headquarters any problem arising in the french air force deployments in Africa. We also had
    to plan for any contingency, or any new situation arising in Africa. Our field of expertise is
    mainly Air Transport.

  • OTAN - AIR TRANSPORT and AIR OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

    2004 - 2008 Responsible for the Airlift Coordination Cell (ALCC) during deployment of the Combined Air
    Operation Center. I coordinate between the Logistic Center, which requires lift capacity, and
    the aircraft available, taking into account the type of aircraft, the crew duty time, the caveats
    from the nations and the type of mission required (transport of dangerous goods, MEDEVAC,
    VIP, ...). The ALCC is responsible for tasking the crews and follows the execution of the mission
    until its completion.

    Deployed during 4 months for NATO / ISAF in KABUL. And head of the ALCC during the validation of the Live Certification of NRF.

  • Ministère de la Défense - Spécialiste Opérations aériennes

    Paris 2002 - 2004 Responsible for establishing the monthly Air Transport requests from the Air Force to the Joint Command. Every request had to be prioritized. I was also responsible for conducting the plan and sending and ensuring the acceptance of urgent requests which were not included in the monthly plan.
