Meccano
- Directeur artistique
2006 - 2008Manager of a 6-person team of model designers and responsible for commissioning work from freelance designers,
User Interface designers and ergonomists.
My role in Meccano has been to keep the essential spirit and values of the brand for the “classic” contruction kit range and
create a new range of robot construction kits using 21st century technologies, (such as WiFi, MP3 audio, voice recognition
and software programming techniques), packaging them into products that are playful, educational and fun.
This led to the creation of the robot construction range "Spykee".
For the Spykee range my role included:
Definition of the structure of the range from a marketing perspective, definition of the product concept,
detailed specification of the functional aspects (product design, User Interface, hardware and software) and
commissioning new subcontractors and technology providers, commissioning and management of free-lance designers
and design agencies..
