    2010 - 2010 Decision and Policy Analysis Program – Sustainable business models for rural populations

    - Analyzed organizational needs and strategized counseling to guide managers of small rural agricultural organizations. Analysis led to creation of new budgetary tools and guidelines to serve as part of model for larger implementation.
    - Investigated benchmarks for better integration of rural farmers in value chains and reported recommendations endorsed by CIAT and large non-profit partners for project proposals.
  • CIAT International Center for Tropical Agriculture - Colombia - Biotechnology Engineer

    2007 - 2009 Agrobiodiversity Department – Rice genetics

    - Envisioned new research projects for development of rice lines resistant to major virus and plague in Latin America. Recipient of $150,000 research grant from Monsanto's prestigious Beachell-Borlaug International Scholarship.
    - Established new and optimized current analysis methods for greenhouse experimentation. Discovered unexpected rice characteristics and recommended new promising breeding strategies.
    - Directed team of two greenhouse technicians, supervised maintenance of facilities and improved team dynamics. Inspired other teams at CIAT which led to consulting in areas of expertise.
  • IRD Research Institute for Development - France and Niger - Intern Biotechnology Engineer

    2006 - 2006 - Led team of four technicians and students in research project which resulted in discovery of gene candidate, recommendations for millet improvement and published high-impact scientific article.
    - Transferred technology from France to Niger and trained students and lab team in methodology reinforcing local commitment to projects.
