Novo Nordisk is currently building a new diabetes API plant in Clayton, which will initially employ 700 employees to double production of diabetes drugs over the next decade. The needs are oriented around the development of the Safety culture, the design process and the future safety procedures for this innovative plant.
Safety:
- Developing the Emergency Response Plan, associated procedures
- Recruiting and training for the Emergency Response Team - Medical, HAZWOPER, Confined Space, High angle rescue, Active shooter response, inclement weather...
- Fostering collaborative relationships to improve emergency response with local authorities, Safety peers in sister plant DFP and other companies around
- Implementing and facilitating/leading Safety training: needs assessment, benchmarking for most relevant quality training
- Procedures researching and creating (PIT, Electrical classified areas, Fall Protection, Emergency Response Team, Electrical Safety...)
- Performing Safety inspections, risk assessment...
- Supporting the needs of all Department in Safety
Ergonomics:
- Eliminating the challenging situations in the design (reduced from 30% to 9% to date for daily operations)
- Accommodating workstation for Employees with medical needs or discomfort

Ariane Conseil is a 15 employees company, leader on disabled matters since 1990 for big firms. It also develops an innovating offer on health problems, such as stress disorders. Most missions are custom made to fit the special requirements and contexts.
My missions:
1) Industrial conception assistance projects, with change management for bottling industrial process relocation, in two different plants:
- Analysis, workshop leading on plans and layouts
- Immediate communication with project pilot, management, design engineers
- Communication to employees advices
- Human factors check-list for machines purchase
Results: add the users' view to complex and technical projects ; reassure management and employees about the coming operation and improve social climate ; helps the design engineers to see what are the daily field matters
2) Working conditions diagnosis on a sport products selling company: reducing accident risks
- Diagnosis and realistic recommendations
- Communication with the state agency that required the diagnosis (CARSAT)
Results: no accident fee increase for the company
3) Adapting work station for about 20 disabled workers (retail companies, ITs, water company, supply chain...)
Results: beyond the individual issues solved, for some cases, the holistic overview allowed to identify collective issues that affect global efficiency, and so improve the working conditions for the whole team
4) Trainings leading about health and efficiency matters, such as:
- Disability: large definition, French law, how to handle it as a manager/tutor/colleague...
- Ergonomics: definition, main principles, for purchasers, designers, managers

- Identifying potential risks linked with real use for the designer team to prevent them
