  • Saint-Gobain - Senior Financial Consolidation

    Courbevoie 2008 - 2013 For the Construction Products Business
    + Consolidation and control of the financial data from about 280 reporting units in more than 60 countries, for monthly and annual reporting purposes (IFRS), as well as annual budget and quarterly re-forecasting.
    + Monthly reporting and analysis of equity, indebtedness, gearing and financial charges for all the entities within the Construction Products Sector
    + Perform balance sheet reviews in different subsidiaries to verify compliance with the Group accounting rules and IFRS adjustments as well as the internal accounting/finance/reporting processes. Provide an action plan where needed and follow-up.
    + Set up a monthly analysis and report of indebtedness and financial charges for the Construction Sector, including provisions for pension schemes (IFRS)
    + Provided support for subsidiaries around the world in terms of tailored SAP BO Financial Consolidation software (aka Magnitude) training, doctrine guidance and accounting practices (IFRS)

  • Saint-Gobain - Senior Financial Analyst

    Courbevoie 2007 - 2008 For the Construction Products Business:
    + Analyse and comment on the monthly results, the annual budget and the 5-year plan of the five activities of the Construction products business of Saint-Gobain.
    + Provide detailed guidelines to the financial controller of each activity on monthly reporting requirements as well as on annual budget data & comment requirements
    + Consolidate, analyse, follow-up and report on the savings of more than 20 countries in an ambitious savings / cost-reduction project following an important acquisition made by the Group
    + Successfully conducted an audit of cost-reduction projects presented by the top three countries participating in the savings project mentioned above. The total savings represented by these countries amount to more than 3bnEur. Projects presented covered several fields, from logistics to marketing, finance and administrative organization.
  • Saint-Gobain - Financial controller

    Courbevoie 2004 - 2007 Insulation R&D Centre
    + Monthly financial reporting of the R&D Centre
    + Coordination of the 30 million € annual budget for the R&D centre: R&D projects, income from technical services, overheads, detailed payroll
    + Calculation of standard costs
    + Analysis and follow-up of the expenses of the R&D projects and overheads
    + Direct supervision and management of a 5-people team: 3 in Accounting 3 and 2 in Purchasing
    + Restructured the financial controlling department and directed the change management process
    + Automated the previously manual monthly reporting, increasing reliability and ensuring timeliness
    + Actively participated in the development of a software to follow the R&D expenses

  • Compañía Suramericana de Valores S.A. - Suvalor (now Valores Bancolombia) - Director International Investments

    1999 - 2001 + Conduct the budget construction and permanent follow-up of the correspondent agreements with Salomon Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers
    + Manage the business between Suvalor and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (with assets under management totalling US$30 million)
    + Monthly reporting to the Board of Directors
    + Established a correspondent agreement with Salomon Smith Barney to distribute their investment products in Colombia. This agreement was the first of its kind in the country. Assets under management reached US$66 million at the time
    + Created a Colombian mutual fund with investments in North American securities, being the second of its kind in Colombia. Thanks to this fund, (US$7 million for a market share of 24%), Suvalor consolidated its position as the leader brokerage house in the country
    + Designed and lead the implementation of an information system for the international products
  • Fiduciaria Suramericana y BIC S.A. Sufibic (now Fiducolombia) - Portfolio Manager

    1996 - 1998 + Define the objectives and investment strategies of the Sufibic family of mutual funds, among the biggest in the country (about 500million US$)
    + Coordinate the study and implementation of the regulations and norms dictated by the Superintendence of Banking and other regulatory agencies
    + Provide instruction and training to the sales force in the financial aspects of the mutual funds
    + Developed a risk management methodology to be used in the portfolio management area, being among the first in the country to have such features
    + Created the monthly reports for the mutual funds as well as the brochures that serve since as commercial support
  • Integral S.A. - Engineer - Insurance adjustment department

    1994 - 1996 + Evaluate and determine the cause of each accident (“damage”) and whether or not it triggered coverage under the insurance policy
    + Suggest the terms of compensation and loss adjustment expense when appropriate, elaborate and present report on the corresponding adjustment to the insurance company
    + Active participation in several and assorted cases, such as the assessment of damages (and eventual insurance coverage) caused by an earthquake in the city of Pereira (Colombia) in 1995
