Dr. NAZIHA GRATI KAMMOUN is senior researcher on biotechnology and olive oil quality. She is head of research unit "technology and quality " at the Institut de l’Olivier de Sfax ( Tunisia). She’s Expert on Genetic biodiversity of Olive Oil Varieties and Improvement and Valorization of Olive Oils by Quality signs and Label (AOC, IGP, ECOLABEL, Monovarietal olive oils)
She is an engineer on Genie Biology from the National School of Engineers of Sfax. In 2006, she had her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with the theme: Genetic diversity of olive varieties cultivated in Tunisia: Pomological, chemical and molecular characterization.
She was the first to publish articles on the molecular diversity of olive varieties in Tunisia. She has published over 50 articles including 25 in journals with impact factor and 5 chapters in books peer.
She has presented over 100 papers and lectures at international conferences and symposia. It is also reviewer in renowned journals impact factor
In addition, She is a Chief scientist of several cooperation projects and Member of the National Commission of Appellations of Origin Controlled Ministry of Agriculture, Member of RECOMED Mediterranean Olive Oil Towns - Imperia since November, 18 2011 and Member of Cooperation Network on “Innovative Technologies in Olive Oil Authentication” with emphasis on DNA-based approaches since August 2013 –MAICH, Chania Greece.
She organized of several scientific workshops, seminars, training courses and Sensibilization sessions in National and International fairs and festivals on the themes of Olive oil Quality, health benefits, Biochemical and sensory characteristics, Olive varieties and biodiversity, Valorization and new projects to develop olive products
