  • Société Générale - Head of Server and Storage Engineering

    PARIS 2014 - maintenant Relying on 40 experts, the Engineering team's missions are:
    •Manage et develop the Core infrastructure
    This includes all the base infrastructure services for Unix/Linux, Windows, Storage, Virtualization and HPC.
    - DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, NetApp NAS and EMC SAN, etc..
    - Virtualization team : 300 ESX servers hosting over 4000 Virtual machines
    - HPC: More than 80000 compute cores managed by the team
    •R&D and integration of new solutions.
    We are in charge of Operating Systems, storage solution and third parties product's integration into our ecosystem.
    From the catalog definition with our vendors to the delivery of the solutions in productions we address all aspects of the product's testing and qualification.
    We have also a major focus on finding new state-of-the-art solutions for our partners.
    •Develop and maintains the infrastructure tools
    Using Agile methodology, we develop and support all the tools used by the infrastrcuture team on a daily basis.
    With a strong focus on Automation, we provide access to our services through a full set of APIs. From machine provisionning to full stack deployment, middleware, DBs, storage our partners can access our services through REST APIs.
    These tools, based on market standards like Puppet, Jenkins, Docker or GitHub see the addition of new services every month to better adapt to our partner's need in a full DevOps approach.
    In parallel, the team manage two dozens tools, from server clustering to compliance control on servers and storage.
    •I'm also in charge at the group level of the x86 coordination: Common Windows and Linux masters, virtualization solutions, vendor relationship.
  • Société Générale - Head of Infrastructure Architecture, Market IT

    PARIS 2012 - 2014 Leading the architecture and project team for MKT, the department in charge of infrastructure for the investment bank.
    The team is in charge of defining architecture and strategy for both infrastructure and business projects. Defining standards, best practices, architecture patterns and doing research on new technologies architecture core to the bank's IT transformation.

    Multiple internal projects including:
    - Extension of Architecture governance to all international locations.
    - Converged and hyper-converged solutions (vBlock,FlexPod, Nutanix).
    - Outsourcing of some Grid (HPC) infrastructure to Public Cloud.
    - Designing the proper process and governance to ensure Architecture review of all internal projects.
    - Implementation of a private Cloud solution to provide IaaS and PaaS services. This solution is based on standard VMWare and vBlock, and intend to provide fast provisioning of environment to development team alongside proper charge back mechanism and capacity planning.
    - Coordination of Database appliance (Exadata) introduction in the bank. This also links to the introduction of Oracle RAC also coordinated by the team.
    - Design and recommandations around noSQL(Cassandra and MongoDB) and Hadoop in order to introduce BigData solutions.
    - Various studies about new technologies like usage of Flash based Disk arrays, Mobility solutions, Secured file exchange, etc....
    - Relationship with vendors and partners: Amazon, Microsoft, HP, Netapp, EMC, IBM, VMware, Oracle, etc...
  • Societe Generale - CTO Japan

    PARIS 2008 - 2012 In charge of the infrastructure team for Société Générale in Japan to ensure production stability and support of business development, reporting directly to Regional CTO. Initially focused on aligning Societe Generale Japan infrastructure to the global standards, also adjusted the whole infrastructure and team after transfer of Front Office to Hong Kong. Management of the team and of budget. Strong focus on production quality, industrialization and delivery of new services.

    ○ Delivered multiple Collocation setup in Japan on time and budget. Strong focus on High Frequency and performances for these collocations setups. .

    ○ Designed and implemented plan to adjust the infrastructure to the new market conditions, after 2008. Managed savings on Datacenter, Telecoms, Staff, etc… without any reduction in quality of service. Re-negociated contracts with major vendors, rationalized infrastructure.
    ○ Opened a new user BCP site in Osaka in 1 week after Japan May 2011 Earthquake. Delivered a new office with IT equipment, telephony and connectivity to Tokyo datacenter.

    ○ Directly supervised infrastructure part of major business developments with connectivity to multiple markets, new products and the relocation of most of the Front Office.
    ○ Refreshed Japan office infrastructure
    ○ Coaching, development and driving the staff through all the changes and re-organizations.
  • Société Générale - IT Server & Storage Manager, Asia Pacific

    PARIS 2004 - 2008 In charge of the AsiaPacific System team spread across five locations. Managing all servers, storage and databases for the Region in a quickly growing environment(300% growth over 4 years) . Structured the team from a local model to a regional one while bringing industrialization and building communication with Headquarters.

    ○ Managed directly the team in terms of resources and budget, defined the regional strategy on the perimeter and ensured compliance with the global standards. Structured the team on a regional industrial model and increased the size from 8 to 23 to adapt to the business growth.

    ○ Standardized all infrastructure, processes and documentation across sites while opening more than 6 new locations across Asia based on standard packaged infrastructures.

    ○ Complete revamping of most of the technologies. Deployment of SAN and NAS solutions on all major sites, introduction of virtualization in 2004 to reach a regional ratio over 50%, migration to Active Directory across all sites, replacement of most Sun Solaris by Linux servers and change of all backup system.

    ○ Maintained Production quality and proper reporting regionally and internationaly with regular dashboards and international workshops.


    In charge of the International Storage community, defining storage strategy for Société Générale in Asia, America and Europe, with regular presentations to Global CTO and Business.
  • Société Générale - Deputy Head of Internet Team

    PARIS 2001 - 2004 Deputy manager of the Internet team for Société Générale CIB, supervised all internet infrastructure ( mail, browsing, hosting and security services). Main role within the team was international coordination with teams in the US and Asia.

    ○ Organized the support model of the internet platforms on a "Follow-the-Sun" model. Standardized the documentations and process.

    ○ Deployment of mutual backup solutions between New-York and Paris for Internet services. Leveraging on the coherence of the infrastructure between Regions to ensure redundancy at a reasonable cost.

    ○ Design and implementation of an Internet based remote access solution for the company. Based on Citrix technologies, RSA security and the company Internet access point. Providing access to Internal resources from any Internet connected PC while ensuring proper level of security, confidentiality and compliance.

    ○ Project management on multiple CIB web sites projects. Main contact for development teams for the implementation of their projects on the bank web hosting platform.
  • Société Générale - System Engineer

    PARIS 1998 - 2001 Member of the Equity trading room system team, main responsibilities were centered around Internet access and Unix system administration.

    ○ Management of the Internet access infrastructure, responsible for the standards and evolutions of the platform. Direct administration of the systems, firewalls and software on a day to day basis. Providing support but also consulting with the development for all Internet based projects and web sites.

    ○ System Administration of the 1500 Unix and Windows servers. Day to day administration, definition of the standards.

    ○ Development of a server monitoring system for Windows, Unix and Linux and deployed it in Paris, Singapore, Tokyo and London.

    ○ Designed and built the infrastructure for the first version of www.warrants.com with real-time publishing of SG Warrants prices on the Internet and of www.sgeln.com, an online valuation of client portfolios.

    ○ Design and deployment of an Internet and Intranet solution for management and publication of Financial research.
  • Crédit agricole - Developer

    Montrouge 1994 - 1998 Junior member of the CAI Cheuvreux IT Team, main objective was to put in place a Datawarehouse solutions. Due to the relatively small size of the IT Team, the scope of the mission was regularly extended to other technical domains ( database administration, Messaging systems, Unix).

    ○ Front / Middle Office Datawarehouse: Management of the project and of all the evolutions during more than three years, from the choice of the products to the user training. More than 6 months were spent directly witin the Middle office team to understand all business processes and provide solutions and improvements.
    Main steps:Product choice (Business Objects), Need analysis ,Database design , Development, Documentation and user training.

    ○ Back Office / Compliance Datawarehouse:This project, based on the technologies used for the Front Office, was meant to provide analysis and control tools to the Back Office and Compliance Teams. This project was a first experience in team management (3developers)

    ○ Financial research publication on-line: Responsible for a study to provide the company Financial Research to our customers on the Internet, using the existing Lotus Notes systems.

    ○ CC:Mail to Notes migration: This consulting project was meant to plan the migration of a whole trading floor to Lotus Notes. Every aspects of the CC:Mail architecture had to be reviewed, from the client workstations to the gateways (to SMTP, Exchange, Faxs,etc..).The scope of this project was about 1000 machines (servers and workstations).

    1994 - 1994 Within a young startup, managed the distribution and support of a middleware software. In charge of all aspects of the products including marketing , sales and support. Prepared advertisment brochures, organized presence at computer fairs and signed partnerships with various companies (Powersoft, Sequent, Nat Systems, etc..).
