  • MetLife Western Europe - Strategic Projects, M&A and External Communication Manager

    2009 - maintenant - Reported to Marc Sevestre, CEO of MetLife Western Europe. Member of the Western Europe Executive Leadership Team.
    - Board Director of Hestis S.A., the holding company of Hyperassur, the number two on-line aggregator in France. Member of the Executive Committee of Hyperassur.
    - Work closely with the CEO to oversee strategic initiatives and projects across brands and lines of business within Western Europe.
    - Especially involved in corporate finance and restructuring topics:
    --- Responsible for researching, developing recommendations, and managing and/or coordinating strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions and all its aspects encompassing initial analysis, due diligence, internal governance, financial negotiations, closing, etc.
    --- Worked – in coordination with the US home office – on several alternatives regarding the sale of Alico (partial/full sale to an insurance player or a third party investor, partial/full IPO…) which finally led to the sale of Alico to MetLife for $16.2bn in Nov. 2010; preparation of the management presentations; involved in the day-to-day work with the i-bankers, lawyers and other advisers.
    --- Lead the current M&A efforts of MetLife in Western Europe – more especially in France. MetLife France acquired a majority stake of Hyperassur, the number two on-line insurance comparison website in France. Led the day-to-day work with the i-bankers, lawyers and other advisers.
    - Responsible for the business update to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; involved in the Alico/MetLife integration for Western Europe.
    - In charge of external communication; the company has “abandoned” the AIG brand to return to historical and corporate name Alico before rebranding to MetLife; working with the CEO and a PR agency to set the tone and define the company’s external corporate communication of our operations in Western Europe.
  • Macquarie, New York - Private Equity Analyst

    2007 - 2009 - Worked for Macquarie Capital Alliance Group (ASX: MCQ), a co-investment fund, and Macquarie Global Opportunities Partners.
    - Responsibilities included all aspects of an M&A transaction: financial modeling, deal memorandums, industry research.
    - Worked with the available resources e.g. Accountants, I-Bankers and Consultants to make sure all the necessary information is available to construct an investment model on the target.
    - Devised investment models of varying degrees of size and complexity.
    - Worked very closely with CFOs of the portfolio companies to produce quarterly financial performance updates and subsequently present to the investment committee and senior MDs internally.
    - Involved in the operations of the portfolio companies – 2 bolt-ons, 1 equity injection, 1 expansion to the European market in 2008.
  • Credit Suisse, New York - M&A Analyst (Intern) - Real Estate Group

    2006 - 2006 - Analysed real estate companies and helped define financial sponsors coverage, buy-side and sell-side assignments.
    - Prepared marketing documents including pitch materials and clients presentations; provided research of industry verticals, market characteristics and drivers, and competitive landscapes; showed initiative and independent thought and assimilated conflicting information from different sources.
    - Developed financial models used for valuation purposes (including comparable company and transaction multiple analyses, discounted cash flow, and LBO analyses).
  • BNP Paribas, Paris - M&A Analyst (Intern) - Industrial, Support & Services Group

    Paris 2006 - 2006 - Participated in the defence of Arcelor against Mittal’s hostile takeover bid.
    - Prepared presentations for several Arcelor Boards.
    - Helped analysing industrial sector strategic issues and defining specific M&A opportunities; made proposals to potential clients (paper, metal and packaging companies).
    - Produced financial merger simulations.
    - Valued clients and target firms with advanced financial tools.

    Courbevoie 2005 - 2005 - Participated in advisory on Sarbanes-Oxley Act and IFRS.
