    2009 - maintenant • Risk-IM WM is the stream dedicated to Private Banking activities of the Group Risk Management credit function of BNP Paribas. As an independent function, its main objectives are to ensure that the first level of controls carried out by the business line are properly implemented and that credit related risks are under control. In addition, it is empowered to approve jointly with the division any facilities in connection with Wealth Management clients.
    • Operate as the Deputy of the Global Head of Risk-IM WM for all credit decision related issues (notably review of credit procedures and policies, validation of new products and complex transactions).
    • Hold credit delegations for Private Banking clients. Facilities under my delegation perimeter mostly consist of Lombard credits, mortgage loans and capital markets transactions.
    • Participate to the review of financing norms which specify standard rules applicable in terms of collateral eligibility and credit policy standards.
    • Involvement in the BNP Paribas Fortis integration process.
  • BNP PARIBAS (Head Office) - General Inspection / Internal Audit – CIB Capital Markets - Head of Mission

    2005 - 2009 • General Inspection is the third level of control function of the BNP Paribas Group. It is responsible for guaranteeing that all types of risks (commercial & reputation, credit and counterparty, market, accounting, legal and tax and administrative risks) are properly identified and controlled, ensuring that internal and regulatory requirements are met and processes efficiency assessed.
    • Undertook audit assignments in connection with capital markets activities (worldwide scope). The main objectives were to assess adequacy and efficiency of systems, procedures and controls in place. The scope of my work mostly covered credit and counterparty risk, sales, middle / back office, legal and compliance risk, and operational risk.
    • Managed audit assignments as Head of Mission (with teams of up to 5 auditors). As such, reported directly to senior management within the business.
    • Issued audit recommendations and reports.
    • Ensured that audit recommendations were properly implemented in liaison with the Permanent Control function (second line of defence).
    • Joined an operational team within Group Risk Management in London to assist them during the crisis at year-end 2008. I took over a credit officer position in charge of the UK and Scandinavian pension funds portfolio (sector and counterparty analysis, legal negotiations, coordination with the marketing team etc.).
  • BNP PARIBAS (Head Office) - Group Risk Management – Risk-Capital Markets - Credit Officer

    2001 - 2005 • Risk-Capital Markets is the Group Risk Department’s stream in charge of CIB activities and financial institutions within the BNP Paribas Group.
    • As part of the Credit team, I was in charge of analysing and monitoring the financial institutions (banks, brokers, finance companies, supranational entities) within my portfolio, mostly located in transition and emerging markets.
    • In liaison with the Front Office, assessed business credit needs (ALM, derivatives, financing, securities, commercial banking) and submitted recommendations to credit committees.
    • Involved in legal negotiations (Master Agreements, CSAs etc.) together with internal lawyers and the Collateral Management team.
    • Took part in client visits and due diligence reviews.
    • Assisted Control & Reporting teams on specific issues.
  • Naxicap Partners – Lyon (France) - Trainee in private equity

    2001 - 2001 • Naxicap Partners is a subsidiary of Natixis Private Equity, the leading French player in the SMEs segment (537 € mio of AUMs as of end 2008). It is mainly involved in venture capital, expansion capital (post-early stage), capital restructuring and buyout transactions.
    • Assisted in structuring investment transactions (equity valuations, legal negotiations etc.).
    • Monitored equity participation from a legal and accounting perspective.
  • Société Générale – Grenoble (France) - Trainee in credit analysis

    PARIS 2000 - 2000 • Managed a portfolio of SMEs and professional clients.
    • Prepared and submitted credit files to various credit committees.
