Thanks to millions of years of selective pressure, nature can provide molecules with high affinity and selectivity for their molecular target. Animal toxins and alkaloids are perfect examples of this as they can be used as pharmacological tools or even modified to make innovative drugs.
My main skills :
Peptide chemistry:
Solid-Phase Peptide synthesis, directed disulfide bridge formation, reverse-phase HPLC, mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF, ESI-TOF), LC-MS, spectrophotometer, circular dichroism,
Pharmacology :
Binding assay using a radioligand, Functional cAMP assay, High Throughput screening, Two electrode voltage clamp
Cell culture (CHO, HEK cells):
transfection, stable cell line obtention
I am currently in a PhD fellowship in the CEA in France. I am studying animal toxins active on different G-protein coupled receptors involved in eating disorders and melanoma.
