PARIS
I graduated from ESPCI, Paris, with an advanced degree (DEA) in bioorganic chemistry from Pierre & Marie Curie University (Paris 6). I did my PhD at Collège de France on light-driven switchable molecular devices and then worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Cornell University and UC Berkeley, engineering energy transfer within dye-functionalized dendrimers for fiber optics and drug delivery applications. I continued working on organic materials in industry, as a Principal Investigator at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies in New Jersey, in the fields of molecular and plastic electronics for telecommunication devices, and optical fiber coatings. I then switched field to become Associate Director of Drug Discovery at Galileo Pharmaceuticals, a pharma start-up in the Silicon Valley, where I used correlations between physical properties and biological activity to drive drug design. After 10 years in the US, I took up the challenge of entrepreneurship in France and co-founded Chemylix.
