I started with AREVA GMBH in Sheda Nigeria to be in charge of all electrical system installation erection connection and commissioning. First installation was 2 generators 400 V 750 KVA, coupling together, then connection between generators and distribution board, laying cables between distribution board and final point. Connection of all equipment, laying cables for fire alarm and computer system that is going to insure all function for the plant. Secondly, installation of 2 generators high tension 11 KV 1500 KVA connection between generators and autotransformers, connection inside the circuit breakers SPI 100 from AREVA Germany, installation of HT cable, fixing the special cable lug, laying of all those cable on top of cable tray, respecting the magnetic field between cables, connection of local supply from the town in order to work on bypass. For this work I have gone to Germany for 2 weeks in AREVA Erlangen to learn safety and security about the work of circuit breakers. After handing over the site to Nigerian Government I left to AREVA UK to work for substation in Nigeria, first I went to UK to get training for security safety and 4 Grids like BESC (basic electrical system) when I came back from UK I went on site in ABA south of Nigeria to manage the site of extension of substation 330 KV 132 KV 33 KV, also supervising 3 other site at Kano Oshogbo and Onitsha. Managing of workers about 50 on site, organize the work, erection of structure after doing concrete base including anchor bolts, erection of poles and gantries, erection of material like breakers, CT, CVT, disconnector, surge arrestor, marshalling boxes, laying cables inside gutter between marshaling boxes to control room, connection of the cables following the diagram inside cabinet, laying SCADA cables for control. After installation of the material on site we test of all of them, filing with SF6 inside the breakers after vacuum, testing CT and CVT, testing disconnector, connection of the individual panel for remote form control room, installation of high tension cable in the diameter from gantries to gantries, installation of insulator and fixing gland to the end of the cables, installation of aluminum bus bar. We install the REACTOR and accessories to the end of the diameter; we install the autotransformer 330 KV 132 KV and accessories. Before that we fix bushing 330 KV and bushing 132 KV then vacuum then filling with special oil, 170 drums for the reactor then 400 drums for the autotransformer, circulating oil with pump and filling the difference with nitrogen, after that and before energizing, the last test has been made with OMICRON equipment, assisting commissioning engineer for the final tests. Connection of all earthling system between poles, gantries, equipment to the final point. Testing the circuit in order to control the right resistivity. Installation of 132 KV diameter breakers, disconnector CT and structure, installation of skyline between extremities of each pole, connection to the earthling system. Except the technical aspect of the work I organize the logistic and the office work as compatibility, control of all supply, price, quantity, quality, also relationship with the client in to the meeting about progress of work, date of outage, organization of work during the weekend and safety security rule. In direct relation with the head office in Abuja and UK, organization of training for the local engineer about safety security and how to operate our equipment, workshop with some example and practice on site. At the same time I have close the 3 other site and to handing over to the client.
