Marseille2010 - 2011From the 8th of november to the 13th of january, I spent 67 days on the CMA CGM Nabucco Merchant Vessel (8200 teu, 337 m LOA ship) as a first class polyvalent cadet officer. Half of my journey was done in the engine room and the other half at the bridge. There I was able to put all my theoritical skills on Naval Architecture in use. These two months spent working everyday on a merchant ship brought me a knowledge of the of the maritime world from the practical point of view.

Boulogne-Billancourt2009 - 2010A one year mission as a Naval Architect at Technip France headquaters in Paris - La Défense. As part of the SHELL gFLNG naval architecture team I was first in charge of the redaction of the Wave Basin test of the project which occured at MARIN (Netherlands). Then I took care of the deep water mooring design work leading the transformation of the meteorogical database given and the different possible design comparative works. I was also involved in the towing bollard pull and meteorological study specification redactions. The experience made me discover the way huge projects (a 600.000 dwt ship, more than one billion dollar total estimated cost) are managed from the contractor point of view.

2008 - 2009A 8 months internship as technical coordinator of the project SeaOrbiter. A first experience in naval architecture that enable me to discover many aspects of the maritime industry. Indeed, I was in charge of the coordination between the different partners of the project (DCNS, NASA, Marintek, Marine Nationale..) in order to organise the preliminary technical studies. Thanks to the reasonable size of the technical team of about 10 persons, I was directly involved in the different topics all through the project process (Requirements definition, CAD design, Certification, Cost plans, Stability calculations, Ancoring calculations...).

2008 - 2008A 3 months research internship studying a criteria in fatigue based on energy used with shape memory alloys. My task was to study if it was possible to widen the range of use of this criteria to other materials. The results of the study were used to write a publication in the "International Journal of Fatigue" entitled "Impact of microstructure, temperature and strain on energy-based low-cycle fatigue life prediction models for TiAl alloys".
