I write about the performing and visual arts, including dance, dance performance and events, opera, and circus, performance art, painting, installation and sculpture, as well as culture and the business of culture. Click on the links for examples of writing in these areas.
My work focuses on reporting on creator personalities and their live production, but, in addition to interviews and reviews, I do editing, French-to-English translating and project critique & team-building. I have a particular interest in culture production as small business contributing to social cohesion: how do culture consumers become collectors, sponsors of the artistic enterprise?
I am currently looking for a supporter for a reporting project on hip hop dance and global culture, focusing especially on the role of Europe’s newer immigrant populations. Topics covered include social integration, liberal values and entrepreneurship.
