With a 20+ year background in Private Equity investing in both Europe and the US, Alexander Rhea was asked in September 2011 to come head PwC’s Accelerator, a new project within the PwC network specialized in helping PE backed companies become global and in the process developped a true private equity /Cap Dev expertise within PwC Luxembourg. Prior to PwC, he co-founded in 2000 and was the Managing Partner until 2011 of Pyramid Technology Ventures (PTV), a $120M independent venture capital fund with offices in both Paris and San Francisco (23 portfolio companies). At PTV he developed an expertise in helping European based companies become global in scope.

From 1995 to 2000, he was responsible for building a portfolio of French and US based investments (11 companies) at Iris Capital (at the time named Part’Com), the venture capital arm of the Caisse des Dépôts (CDC).

Alexander was first exposed to private equity investing, when he was hired in 1993 by GET Capital as a turnaround CEO for one of its portfolio companies, Aquametrîcs. At Aquametrics, he was ultimatly responsible for the acquisition of 8 IP companies (roll-up program). His CEO skills were first proven when he was the CEO of Birkmayer USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Laborbirkmayer, an Austrian pharmaceutical group.

Alexander graduated from HEC Paris (France).
