• Oceana - Policy Advisor

  2010 - 2013 Joined Oceana to re-launch the office in Brussels. Led Oceana’s advocacy work for fisheries management at European level, influencing policy decisions through strategic planning and carefully crafted communication materials including position papers, press releases, speech writing and opinion editorials.

  - Led Oceana’s campaign for the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy, shaping the environmental priorities of Europe’s key legislation governing fishing activities
  - Led Oceana’s campaign that closed loopholes to the shark finning ban in the European Union
  - Developed a network of key European policy makers in support of ambitious fisheries policy

• Commission européenne - Policy Officer

  Bruxelles 2009 - 2010 Joined the Control Unit of European Fisheries Administration to support the elimination of illegal fishing globally. Coordinated outreach and negotiations with non-European countries, and trained national fisheries administrations on the implementation of Europe’s catch certification scheme
