Operating over 22 countries with 1,100 retail members, EMD offers alternative retailing concepts and ameliorated purchasing processes for branded and Private labels assortments.

    • Buying Director for a start-up project involving bundling and sourcing of Private label and 1stPrice Non-Food assortments (including Batteries, Toys, Candles, Electro, Lighting, Stationery, etc…). Worldwide sourcing, negotiation, centralized quality management, optimization of the supply chain and contracts closing for a yearly amount above € 20 millions.
    Additional 15% savings for the multi-national and multi-site retail partners.

    • In charge of the private label food assortment portfolio for a purchasing value over € 200 millions (including Frozen assortment -Fish, Vegetables,…-, Alcoholic and non-Alcoholic beverages and Dairy products). Average additional price improvement of 7% for the retail members.

    • In charge of the senior-level international negotiations with TOP 50 A-brands industry representatives (such as Philips, P&G, Unilever, Osram, etc..). Improvement of the retail members’ buying terms (over-riders) for a purchasing value over € 250 million.

    • Contracts management and European suppliers relationship.
    • In charge of new retail members acquisition. Growth of the group consolidated turnover by 5%.

    2001 - 2006 Set up in 2000 as a daughter company of EMD AG and Markant GmbH, Markant Česko became the leading Retailers alliance in Czech Republic with over € 2,5 billions turnover and servicing more than 800 points of sale. Offering a centralized settlement system and procurement of FMCG assortments, the company turned break-even on the 3rd year.

    • Country manager for the EMD subsidiaries in Czech and Slovak Republics.
    • Initiating, opening and operating the Slovak branch.
    • In charge of the profit and loss budgets review, office administration, human resources management, legal affairs and public relations.
    • Responsible for the implementation, adaptation and operation of a centralized payment system between retailers and suppliers. Processing over €150 millions tax documents (invoices).
    • Contracts negotiations for the improvement of retail members' buying conditions (min. 2% additional bonus) and suppliers’ relationship.
    • Acquisition of new retail members in Central and Eastern Europe for EMD ag.
