GlaxoSmithKline
- Intern in the packaging departement
Marly-le-Roi 2010 - maintenant6 MONTHS
Mission: Use of lean manufacturing method called SMED(Six Sigma DMAIC process methodology)on a packaging line in order to reduce the batch change time.
Rules and responsibilities:
- Applying the SMED method (filming a batch change and sequencing the film in different tasks)
- Determining which tasks of the batch change could be improved or deleted
- Challenging the quality system and defending the improvements that needed to be introduced
- Leading SMED meetings with all the workers (about 20 people)
- Writing new Standard Work with the improvements allowed by the quality department and updating process documentation
- Managing the workers into the new Standard Work
Results:
- 30% of time saved with the SMED method and the improvements
- Gain the confidence of workers and be well-integrated in the team (workers are interested in my work whereas at first they were hesitant)
GlaxoSmithKline
- Project manager in Production
Marly-le-Roi 2010 - maintenant3 MONTHS
- Organize and supervise the reprocessing of some batches in the packaging department and particularly a batch for the Japanese market
- Creation and validation with the quality department of the documentation used for the Japanese reprocessing
- Conduct training sessions: sensitisation of the workers about the particularities of the Japanese market and its high quality level- Organize and perform the 5S management in the packaging department(Managing and creation of 5S standard in 3 packaging lines)
- Review of reprocessing files
- Build and follow the detailed planning of PQ validations in a new formulation building
- Create and follow the PQ Validations advancement file
- Take part in the writing of protocols and reports for PQ
- Be in charge of clean and sterile hold time validations for the small materials and vessels
Continuous improvment and training
Aseptic practices
At 80% of my working time: Environmental monitoring action plan coordinator: coordination of different actions linked to the environmental monitoring tests
A 20% of my working time : training GSK bio filling staff about aseptic practises
MedImmune (AstraZeneca)
- Intern in downstream processing development
2008 - maintenant3 MONTHS
Mission: Optimisation of a final concentration/diafiltration operation, for an antibody solution: using a tangential flow filtration system.
Rules and responsibilities:
- Using a tangential filtration system with its software and a protein A chromatography (pilot scale)
- Comparing the performance of three membranes of filtration on the tangential filtration system according to an experimental protocol
- Presenting my work to the Downstream Processing team (in English)
- Writing a report in English
Results:
- The most efficient membrane was determined:
1. membrane that take the least time to perform the concentration/diafiltration operation at the optimum flowrate, transmembrane pressure and the optimal point at which to perform diafiltration (these three datas had to be find for each membrane)
2. membrane that is easier to clean than the other
STRADIS
- Intern as a factory worker
2007 - maintenant1 MONTH
Mission: Discovery of the production organisation, the quality system and the firm organisation as a factory worker in packaging
Rules and responsibilities:
- working on a production line as a worker
- suggesting maintenance solution
Results: sensitisation to the production management and the quality system in the pharmaceutical field

Mission: Calibrating an infrared measuring machine which determine the quantity of the main components of milk (fat, protein, lactose and dry matter)
Rules and responsibilities:
- calibrating an infrared measuring machine which determine the quantity of the main components of milk
- simplifying and making the user’s guide more user’s friendly
- making the inventory of the spare parts of the machine
Results: The machine was calibrated and installed in the dairy of the school
