2010 - 2011 Within the group of energies of the Research Laboratory in Geosciences and Energies (LARGE), I contribute to the development of low consumption habitat, and in particular on the topic of convection and natural ventilation of buildings during warm seasons in the South of continental France and French Caribean islands. This problematic set aside from projects comes back thanks to new policies of controlling costs and building management. The objective is to model, control and optimize natural ventilation to limit the use of active systems of air treatment and conditioning. This project lays on the modelling of convective phenomenons inside buildings and passive aeraulic components. This way constitutes a technological breakout respect to existing solutions for air condition.
In details, I study an experimental device of passive air conditioner derived from a simplified model of habitat. It deals with an installation generating a natural asymmetric convection flow, whose characteristics remain badly known. Using laser techniques of velocimetry (LDV), I manage the parametric study of this experience, from data acquisition to interpretation, passing throught post-processing.
Objectives of this work are both feeding the scientific literature with a reliable database (publication and peer analyse of results) and allowing the development of technological transfers from academics towards industries providing the key tools for the next generation of buildings.
