During the first year, existing controls were described "as is" and new controls build from scratch. Amount of workload generated for control performers was high. "Compliance yes, but not at any cost".
On the second year we took a proces reengineering approach, challenging all processes and controls focusing on simplifying as much as possible operational tasks and integrated them in the already existing routine.
For 2005, 2006 and 2007 no issues were reported for Renault Trucks Spain and Portugal at year-end closing.
Implementation of Segregation of duties rules for Renault Trucks Spain
- Identification of SoD conflicts in SAP Finance roles authorization(conflicts between transaction in a same role) and cleanup (Based on SoD matrix provided by Renault Trucks HQ)
- Identification of SoD conflicts at SAP Finance user level (conflicts between diferent roles assigned to a same user) and cleanup
- Participation on the FAROS implementation (User Access request tool) for Renault Trucks Spain. This new tool included the list of roles per application, the SoD rules and the line manager/application owner information. For every user request, SoD rules were automatically checked and approval worflow were differents if a conflict was identified or not.
Main focus:
> "Failure is not an option". Objective = ZERO issue.
