Jérôme Berthuit currently holds a position as manager of the signalling program and principles group. He is in charge of the management of the production unit: workload and planning supervision, participation to tender offers redactions and management of signalling designers.
He also ensures the technical supervision of the production unit by providing designing rules, coordinating designers, verifying issued documents with respect of technical principles and customer expectations. He may also lead some training schemes within the signalling department over new specific areas.
He has been strongly involved on international projects such as the Korean Honam Line and Tangier-Kenitra High speed line projects, being the main producer/verifier of the issued signalling programs.
His technical knowledge extends from various interlocking systems (computerized or mechanical interlockings) as well as signalling systems such as TVM430/300, SEI, ERTMS or conventional light signalling.
Starting from the geographical track description, our mission is to provide a first functional description of railway facilities (track, signalling, interlocking centers). In order to fulfill these objectives, we are in charge of :
- Defining all train movements through a route description taking into account traffic management specificities, safety regulations, train driving operations...
- Implementing wayside signals being observed by train drivers,
- Carrying out a first functional analysis of the interlocking centers (route compatibilities, maintenance staff protections, detection devices...)
The functionalities of upgraded or brand new signalling facilities must be fully compliant with safety regulations and technical principles. However, a traffic management perspective is mandatory to reach the operators expectations.
