The main objective is to open a permanent Engineering office in Sana’a, Yemen in order to perform local engineering and field support to Oil Companies.
• First stage duties, in parallel of business development, include liaison with local authorities, banks and partner to register the branch
• In a second stage, duties include administrative support of current contracts performed in Yemen, local hiring and development of the office
• The target is to reach 40 persons within a 3 years period
note: Due to the instability in the country, only business development and contracts administration activities are currently performed from HO in Abu Dhabi

The contract with Shell consisted in a FEED and future EPC for floating liquefied natural gas facilities.
My duties included the preparation, the negotiation and the award of the Subcontracts (FEED and EPC) for the Turret & Mooring System
• Performed the flow down clauses analysis
• Negotiated the sensitive clauses (payment, progress, milestones, liquidated damages…)
• Participated in the discussions on intellectual property and patents
• Coordinated with principal disciplines (Cost, planning, finance, QHSE, legal) and prepared the corresponding exhibits for signature

The Contract with YLNG (Total) consisted in the construction of a grassroots plant of two LNG trains: Lump Sum turnkey EPC 2.5B$ in a remote location: Balhaf, Republic of Yemen.
The main object of my positions is the Lump Sum EPC subcontract for a LNG loading jetty (160M$).
I have held different positions in different locations, in addition to the frequent travels to the jobsite :
• Managed the evaluation of subcontractor change orders (engineering and construction)
• Coordinated technical aspects with London engineering office (at JV partner)
• Handled all negotiations of the submitted claims (contractual and commercial)

• Represented Contractor (TECHNIP/KBR/JGC Joint Venture) in the Subcontractor fabrication yard for the construction of the LNG loading jetty including steel jackets, topsides, trusses and piles
• Coordinated activities of engineers in London, consultants in Brisbane and construction in Balhaf
• Managed a supervision team (welding engineer, construction supervisor, QC supervisor)
• Organized and chaired weekly progress meetings
• Monitored engineering, procurement, and fabrication activities against schedule / invoicing
• Ensured that the work is carried out in accordance with the design
• Witnessed loading on barge, and insured compliance of all marine documentation
• Prepared responses to Client letters in relation with the subcontract package

o Two Purchase Orders for fabrication of steel structures: value 5M$ and 10M$

• Implementation of the new “Pay Item Definition” through presentations to each discipline
• Update of the Realisation Department Working Procedure
• Issuance of “Subcontracting”, “Procurement” and “Confidentiality of Information” Procedures
• Set up of a database to assist the prequalification of Subcontractors

The Contract with ADCO (Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations) consisted in the construction of two grassroots Oil Production plants: Lump Sum turnkey EPC 600M$.
My duties included contractual and commercial follow-up on site of several construction subcontract packages until close-out, award of subcontracts for new works, and issuance of various Site Purchase Orders and Service Orders. Mains subcontract packages were :
• Fabrication and delivery of steel structures: two purchase orders (value 3M$ and 4M$)
• 33kV Overhead Line: two Lump Sum EPC subcontracts (1.7M$ and 6M$)
• Cathodic Protection of well heads: one subcontract of 2.2M$
• Internal Epoxy coating for two water lines: value 180,000$
• Site Purchase Orders and Service Orders for various works
