Bilingual French/English, perfectly at ease in both cultures.
I worked for 10 years in the transport/freight forwarding sector in the UK, including three years as branch manager for SCAC Transport International (later part of SDV).
My urge to travel took me to Hong Kong, where I spent another 10 years, setting up my own services company. My main business was in the translation field, with a specialization in the film and TV sector. In addition to translating voice_over scripts and subtitles, I also wrote dubbing and voice-over scripts in English and French for a number of well-known productions (films by Wong Kar Wei and Zhang Yi Mou, NHK documentaries, RTHK and TVB series).
As a parallel activity, I represented a French SME, for whom I had previously worked, supplying fencing equipment for numerous projects, including the Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok.
Now living in Marseilles, my main work is still translating from French to English and vice-versa. Working with SME's, large corporations and local government agencies, I emphasize the importance of a well-translated web site and company documentation (sales brochures, technical manuals etc.) when trying to establish oneself in the various English-speaking markets.
I am not limited to translation and would be interested in putting my experience and knowledge at the disposal of companies requiring a representative/agent in the Provence/Côte d'Azur region.
I am a member of the ITG network of consultants (www.itg.fr) and am registered for VAT. I am also an active member of the Mediterranean Anglo-American Business Network (www.maabn.fr)
