    2009 - 2014 • Different approaches for metal fatigue in engineering.
    • Drill-stem design calculations according to current standards (e.g. API RP 7G, ISO 10407 …), especially drill-pipe fatigue.
    • 3D drill-string mechanical behavior in complex wellbores (Formulation & Software)
    - ABIS code (Mines ParisTech): a stiff-string model of Torque & Drag, resolution of equilibrium and elastic equations by direct numerical integration method coupling with a contact algorithm. This code allows to determine drill-string deformation within the well, internal forces in drill-string, contact points and contact forces between drill-string and well-bore.
    • Analytical model of bending stress for drill-pipe in a curved section of the well (Formulation & Programming).
    • Develop a cumulative fatigue model for drill-pipes during drilling operation:
    - Drill-pipe fatigue data (drill-pipe S-N curves, drill-pipe fatigue tests);
    - Incremental computation of drill-pipe cumulative fatigue during rotary drilling operation (Shell-script and C programming).
    • Developing a fatigue crack growth model for drill-pipes during drilling operation:
    - Fracture mechanic.
    - Finite element simulation of cracked structure (CASTEM Finite Element code, GIBIANE programming).
    - Calculation of different parameters in fracture mechanic using finite element method.
    - Construction of a stress intensity factor database for a semielliptical surface crack in a drill-pipe subjected to rotary bending and tension loads (CASTEM and G-thêta method).
    - Realization of crack growth rate tests for different steel grades used in drill-pipes.
    - Fatigue crack growth code (C programming).
    - Incremental computation of fatigue crack growth during rotary drilling operation (Shell-script and C programming).
