I have managed up to 6 manufacturing plants
Oriented to results, with a natural attitude to lead initiatives for cultural change and people motivation. A ‘performance culture’ management style sustained by a ‘leading by example’ approach.
Within my last international experiences I have developed a deep attitude to support customers relation as well as a strong focus to the P&L improvement.
I have also led an Acquisition / integration process of a multinational large company targeting the business and profit improvement.
In the last 3 years also involved into the strategic sourcing process. (raw materials and Finished products)

    The position is based in Rolle (Lausanne, Switzerland) : Six manufacturing plants (France, Holland, Germany, Swizerland, Poland and Italy); Supply chain (planning, demand and procurement)and Logistics.
    Approx 800 total heads.
  • SEALY EUROPE - Operations Director Europe

    2007 - maintenant Offices in Milan and Paris , leading a team of 6 executives for a total organisation of approx 500 heads. Full responsibility of the Manufacturing (2 plants in Italy and France ), Supply Chain, Logistics and Purchasing. (raw materials and finished products), supporting directly the European President.

    Significant improvements in the organisation to keep the business profitable in a weak economy mode supporting the business turnaround.
    Achieved huge results in cost reduction (with restructuring process), productivity improvements, lean manufacturing process and working capital reduction.
    Redisegned the European logistics distribution network.

    Full implementation of the SOP (Sales and Operation planning) process for the European organisation and established a new European Quality organisation with direct contact with the key industrial customers. (OEM)
    Established new contract for the key raw materials suppliers. (chemical commodities)

    Provided leadeship over the R&D team for what concern European projects
  • PPG INDUSTRIES - Manufacturing and Supply Chain Director - Automotive Refinish EMEA

    Rueil-Malmaison 2004 - 2007 PPG Automotive Refinish Division, Europe
    The position was based in Rolle (Lausanne, Switzerland) : Three manufacturing plants (Italy, UK, Holland), One resin plant (UK); Supply chain (planning, demand and procurement); Logistics and the distribution operations (3 large hubs, plus depos).
    Leading a team of 7 Executives for total organisation of approx 700 heads managing a financial budget of approx 90 M$.

    Developed and implemented a strategic Manufacturing Improvement Plan for Europe.
    Redesigned the Logistics network with the start up of 2 new depots (Spain and Turkey)
    Developing a new culture and organisation on Quality processes. Quality Control,
    Improved the level of service and quality reducing the customer complaints
    Implemented and lead the introduction of a new production technology sustaining a growing demand

    In parallel to the Mfg and SC Director position I have led a acquistion project in Europe working in strong contact with the BU Director and European VP.
    Restructuring process and plants closure (2 plants in UK) with production reorganisation in existing sites.
    Introduction of a new ERP system
    Review the main logistics flows (Europe and Middle East/Dubai)
    Start the mfg integration of a mfg plant in Saudi Arabia
  • PPG Industries - Plant Director, Milan

    Rueil-Malmaison 2002 - 2004 Reporting to the European Manufacturing and Supply Chain director.
    I had the full responsability of a chemical plant with more than 400 heads.
    Strong focus on Quality, EHS improvements and Cost optimisation.
    An important effort to bring the old Max Meyer plant inside the PPG culture in term of processes and improvements.

    1998 - 2002 Lagostina is an Italian company leader in the stainless steal cookware production with 3 manufacturing plants in Italy and more than 450 employee (1998).

  • MEMC Electronics Materials - Production Manager

    1992 - 1998 Worldwide company leader in the production of Silicon Wafers for the microelectronics business with production plants in USA, Far East and Europe. In 1998 was employing more than 1500 heads in two Italian sites.
    I was reporting to the plant Manager with the full responsability of a business unit in the Novara Site with more than 300 employee (production, quality, maintenance, engineering and EHS)
