  • QIAGEN - Marketing Specialist Australia New-Zealand

    COURTABOEUF 2010 - maintenant Qiagen is a global provider of sample and assay technologies for molecular diagnostics, applied testing, academic and pharmaceutical research. The company operates more than 35 offices in over 20 countries employing around 4,000 staff with sales of $1.2 Billion.

    Currently reports to the APAC Marketing Manager who is based in Shanghai:

    • Appointed to rebuild and revise existing marketing strategies that focused on lead generation using direct marketing, brand building, eDigital, and event management and networking strategies.

    • Part of the APAC Marketing Leadership team, driving strategic branding and marketing activity.

    • Rolled out a new Event Management program for ANZ, with more than 107 events being delivered in 2012 within the Life Sciences and Molecular diagnostics section. These events have resulted in a marked increase in revenues as well as strengthening the Qiagen profile across KOL’s and industry influencers.

    • Created regional literature and marketing tools for lab managers and clinicians (push and pull strategy).

    • Provided creative influence into artwork and booth design.

    • Worked in collaboration with Regulatory Affairs for approval on marketing tools relating to national regulatory requirements, and with Technical Writers on market comm specifics.

    • Partnered with the Qiagen Web Development team on rolling out new and innovative eDigital solutions for integration into website, iPad, eNewsletters, landing pages and other digital marketing.

    • Cleaned, revised and improved CRM database which consists of more than 20,000 contacts in research, laboratories, public and private hospitals and subsequently led targeted marketing campaigns.

    • Outsourced parts of the creative and design work to offshore (China) resulting in savings of more than 60%.

    • Implemented tools to track the financial performance of the brands under remit; effectively analysing issues and creating action plans to ensure achievement of revenue objectives and to maximise ROI against budget.

  • Contracting - Contracting

    2008 - 2010 • Served as Project Manage on International Business for the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Midi-Pyrenees, working with organisations of marketing, sponsorship and internal business marketing strategies. Clients ranged from Aircraft Interior designs to FMCG.

    • Relocated to Australia in 2008 and undertook a period of casual engagements whilst being on a Holiday Visa. This was subsequently transferred to Business 457 Visa following successful engagement by Qiagen.
  • Campofrio Montagne Noire - Brand Manager

    2005 - 2007 Campofrio Food Group is one of the largest companies in the processed meats sector, present in Europe and America. The business employs more than 9,000 staff generating revenues in excess of $2 Billion.

    • Directed and led the short and long range strategy (1, 3, 5 year) encompassing re-branding, product development and sales across a multiple brand portfolio.

    • Recommended product mix, quotas and brand targets in accordance with brand direction, focusing on 2 core offerings; Quality and Health. Delivered value growth of +5% and margin growth of +12% through portfolio profit mix management, focused NPD growth initiatives and product cost optimization.

    • In collaboration with a nutritionist expert, successfully brought to market a new Omega 3 fatty acids range.

    • Oversaw key stages of NPD and project launches, working closely with Purchasing on consumables, packaging and new ingredients, through to Sales Management on rolling field/product training.

    • Brought all brands in line with CI guidelines for consistency, and worked with Quality insurance on certification (BRC, IFS), quality logos and nutrition information on labels, and Regulatory affairs.

    • Developed written briefs to support all promotional and PR programs and worked closely with Campofrio’s agencies to deliver against these briefs, and to deliver a fresh, new approach to marketing and comms.

    • Engaged with Sports Agents to secured credible athletes for sponsorship.

    • Reviewed sales performance of products and recommended changes in pricing, media and product mix.

    • Utilised market tools and insights to gather critical data. Worked with Market research companies: AC Nielsen and TNS for market insights, trends and analysis.
  • Roquefort Société - Groupe LACTALIS - Assistant Brand Manager

    2004 - 2004 Lactalis is a multi-national dairy products corporation, owned by the Besnier family and based in Laval, Mayenne, France. It is the largest dairy products group in the world, with more than 52,000 staff globally.

    • Drove the rescue plan to arrest and reverse a decline in product sales in the age 50+ customer category, and leading the rebrand of 6 products coupled with subsequent launch of new products to market.

    • Wrote press release, created advertisements for magazines, designed promotional materials to implement rebranding, and participated in the creation of a new TV advertisement to implement new branding.

    • Led growth within younger markets, making product design more relevant to target market.

    • Revamped and developed product promotion and commercialisation plans including sales tools, literature, distribution stocking, training and sampling.

    • Incorporated qualitative and quantitative research to identify trends and embed market intelligence.
