    • STRATEGIC THINKING: build and drive fragrance strategy using in-depth knowledge of the brands (Comfort/Snuggle), competitors, consumer needs, market products and available and upcoming perfume technologies. Implementation of this strategy into internal and external fragrance programs and innovation projects.

    • WINNING IN FRAGRANCE: drive fragrance quality by managing the briefs internally (encapsulate fragrance strategy and needs for each project in a clear document fully approved by all stakeholders) and externally, by leading the fragrance development creatively and qualitatively in collaboration with Fragrance House Partners. Ensure Fragrance Partners work to the best of their abilities and deliver on time and in full, desirable fragrances that fit the business needs, the brand identity and the product mix.

    • FRAGRANCE SELECTION AND IMPLEMENTATION: identify and select winning fragrances for new launches using olfactive and strategic expertise as well as consumer insight. Fragrance contact for problem solving during scale-up of new fragrances to mass production. Work with regional brand and technical teams to implement recommended fragrances into local markets.

    • RESOURCE AND COMPLEXITY MANAGEMENT: manage two team members. Supervise category fragrance portfolio and supply chain complexity. Lock down fragrance investment for each new project and advise on suitable resource spend for fragrance selection.

    • BUILDING OF INTERNAL FRAGRANCE CAPABILITY: continuously build upon and use consumer insight, market fragrance knowledge and olfactive and conceptual trends, to determine category drivers and to deliver market winning fragrances. Protect fragrance quality by ensuring best practices are followed within Unilever. Train and raise team awareness on fragrance.

    2007 - 2009 FRAGRANCE DEVELOPMENT – CROSS CATEGORY:

    • PROJECT MANAGEMENT: in charge of meeting aesthetical and technical brief requirements and deadlines. Select human and technical resources to work with. Lead communication between the Perfumers, the Account Managers and the Application Laboratory.

    • FRAGRANCE DEVELOPMENT AND SELECTION: drive creativity and innovation in the development of winning fragrances based on market and consumer insight, client understanding and commercial flair. Close partnership with the Perfumers. Select fragrances from the internal library.

    • MARKET AND TRENDS ANALYSIS: continuously study markets, new products, new smells and upcoming trends. Cooperation with the Marketing Department. Fragrance mapping.

    • OLFACTIVE TRAINING: successful completion of an intensive training program covering the genealogy of perfumes, learning of key natural and synthetic raw materials, recognition of families and of fine fragrances.

    2006 - 2007 FLAVOUR DEVELOPMENT :

    • CONSUMER TEST MANAGEMENT: plan, prepare and run internal and external consumer tests. Design questionnaires, lead panels and analyse results. Write reports aiming at guiding the Flavourists in the development and screening of new flavours.

    Argenteuil 2005 - 2006 • FRAGRANCE EVALUATION SUPPORT, TOILETRIES: prepare evaluation sessions. Select fragrances from the internal library. Delve into the global personal care market. Participate in the development of new fragrances for Dove (Unilever).

    • SIX MONTHS SPECIAL STUDY & ESSAY WRITING: “What is an Olfactive Signature?”
    Identify, describe and analyse the main brands’ olfactive signatures from the French market. Study fragrance strategies of key global shampoo ranges: Head & Shoulders, Pantene, Fructis, and Elvive.

    Perfumery (IFEAT course) - Long distance course studied over 18 months provided by Plymouth University. Covers olfaction, art, science, technology and management of Perfumery.

    Cergy Pontoise 2000 - 2006 Five year course covering all the fundamental engineering skillsets: industrial sciences and processes, formulation and development, quality and regulation, marketing.
