For the past 17 years, I've been developing Consulting and Software Businesses specialized in Business Analytics.
From my first BA job position in 1998 up to now, I rapidly made up my mind that Business Analytics has to be taken from a Business point of view, not from an IT one, then turned it in a differentiating approach in my different companies.
It means Businesses must achieve real results by starting from problems to be solved and target to reach, instead of starting talks with Indicators, KPI, Data Sources and Users. I love BA Technology but at each single moment, we should know if investments we make show... return. If not, we are surfing in the fashion of those fascinating tools, hypnotised, instead of stopping potentially beautiful but useless projects.
Please review my experiences through Business Objects, BTD Clearviews or more recently Values Associates, and let's discuss mutual plans :-)
