  • EY (Ernst & Young) - Global Financial Analysis Director leading

    Courbevoie 2012 - 2012 , I have been appointed as Global Financial Analysis Director leading the Analytics part of the newly Center of the excellence in order on worldwide level to:
    * Develop baseline understanding of how FA (Financial analysis) is performed today - what finance resources are involved, what analysis do they perform , and for whom
    * Understand how we support the business and enable decision support
    * Develop common approaches (best practices) to performing FA for critical relevant topics
    * Leverage the current Finance tools to perform our FA, and also identify potential enhancements
    * Build a network of key FA resources across finance in the world

    We have established this Reporting & Analytics COE to transform the way we do Management Reporting bringing efficiency, standardization and consistency (one stop shop).
    The Analytics CoE provides centralized FA support on a set of standard and ad hoc analytics requests to Business & Finance Leaderships
    Our mission is not only to produce new analysis but as well:
    * Optimize the existing tools, processes ;
    * Capture ``Best in class practices'' and deploy them broadly cross our organization
    * Propose new tools, new approach for a better standardization (like Spotfire and tableau as visualization tools)
    * Develop advanced Analytical capabilities within our Finance Community ;
  • EY (Ernst & Young) - EMEIA Functional Lead for a New Reporting Platform

    Courbevoie 2010 - 2012 , I was fully dedicated to a project lead by Ernst Young Global within a worldwide team to implement a standardize and harmonize reporting platform based on what I have done in EMEIA previously (see below). The scope of the project is larger than the previous EMEIA one by having the following domains:
    * Financial reporting ;
    * Engagement reporting
    * Capacity
    * Markets (including Sales & Pipeline)

    I have started to work as the EMEIA representative for these 4 domains and more specifically the Global Engagement reporting lead in charge to design and to get an agreement of each of our 5 Areas in a standard way to report Engagement life cycle for our 120 000 client serving people around the world.
    At the beginning of 2011 calendar year, I moved more specifically to the Financial Reporting project with the responsibility of the Global testing; ensure the data quality and the accuracy of the all reports produced for this particular domain.
    I was also in charge to mock-up some of the reports available for this domain and to ensure the overall relationship between the functional team and the report developer team. My expertise was also used to be part of all the functional discussions regarding the functionality and processes that we have designed and developed for the domain as ETL, Hierarchy management tool, custom roll up, delegation, drill down, User Access Management, enhance printing, report book
  • EY (Ernst & Young) - Finance Director

    Courbevoie 2008 - 2009 , my job was splited in two parts, one as functional leader for EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India, Africa) to build from scratch and implement a Financial reporting and analysis tool for 87 countries with a team of 2 functional persons and some IT developers. This project consisted mainly to have a common platform with general ledger and financial reporting. This has been deployed successfully within the area by the end of December 2009
    The other part as responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting (Management and statutory) for Luxembourg entities. Team leader of 15 persons
    * In charge of all accounting matters for Ernst & Young and their subsidiaries. Monthly profits and losses, yearly balance sheet (including statutory and fiscal consolidation). Setting up budgets and revised budgets, analysis and explanation of all variances. In charge of the reporting for our shareholders, European and worldwide management. Implement consistent reporting policies in order to narrow the gaps.
    * In charge of all relations with our banks, external auditors, public administration (like Social security, salaries Tax... ) and our legal department for all legal publications. In charge of annual VAT and income Tax declarations.
    * Managed all aspects of analytical review of our accounts, preparation of all keys indicators and presentation to our management committee including proposition to decrease variances between actual and budgeted figures. Gives appropriate advices / support to the firm's management.
    * Luxembourg's representative in all Finance Controller's meeting within our area. This area gathered countries like France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Italy, Greece, Romania, Malta, Moldavia and Luxembourg. This group are in charge to maintain common accounting rules and reporting inside our Area and to discuss about enhancements to increase the quality of our reporting. Provide focused information to the Area management, including the monitoring of a number of KPI (Key Performance Indicators). Monitor the projects and the resources funded by the Area budget. Frequent travels are made
    * Managed the implementation of an ERP in Luxembourg, one part was People Soft Finance for the statutory accounting and the other part was for an internal development by our US firm for the management accounting ( WIP, clients matters). Luxembourg was the first country with France (outside USA) to implement with success this ERP throughout the world in July 2004. Due to this success implementation, I was chosen by the US core team to help the others countries of our Area in the implementation of this tool.
    * Managed our cash flow and our cash collection department ;

    1996 - 2001 is an industrial company that specializes in lifting and materials handling, suspended access and personal protection equipment with revenue of $6.68 Million EUR and 150 employees. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of TRACTEL S.A.
    Responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting department (5 people) and management of the consolidation of our subsidiaries.

    * In charge of all accounting matters for SECALT SA. Monthly profits and losses, yearly balance sheet, setting up budgets and revised budgets, analysis and explanation of all variances. In charge of the reporting for our mother company in France.

    * In charge of all relations with our banks, external auditors, public administration (like Social security, salaries Tax... ). In charge of our monthly and annual VAT declarations and annual income Tax declaration.
    * Managed all aspects of analytical review of our accounts, preparation of all keys indicators and presentation to our management committee including proposition to decrease variances between actual and budgeted figures.

    * Financial management of our big foreign contracts (payment follow-up, put in place bank guarantee, special terms of payment...)

    * In relation of theses contracts, I was the Finance Director of our subsidiaries or joint venture in Middle East (Dubai and Madras) and Far East (Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Shangaï). I was in charge to verify if the group accounting policies have been respected, in charge of the monthly consolation of their results in our local accounts before sending our P/L to our mother company. I travelled very often to each of these countries to show to the local management my involvement.

    * In charge of all employees' matters, new hired contracts, declaration of these hired to the administration. Preparation of payslip and all legal declarations.

    * Internal auditor certified by a diploma from TUV Cert ;

    Responsible for all aspects of accounting. I was alone in this department in Luxembourg. Brink's is an armed security escort company
